My house has NO room for a tree at all! None whatsoever!!!! What IS the smallest tree available? I have ALWAYS had a REAL tree, but that is just NOT happening this year! I suppose I am going to get a little round table and throw an artificial on it with a few ornaments and done. I doubt that I am even breaking out the decor this year.

aww thats sad.. i had a tiny little fake tree in my room once... it was like 3ft tall.. i think it came from a craft store.. i didnt look real, but it made my happy to have my own tree.

I am all for getting one of those Fiber Optics, but DD doesn't like that much. She isn't too happy that we don't have room for the traditional BIG tree! Neither am I really, but there is just no way it is happening this year. But the Fiber Optic, take it out of the box, plug it in, costs 10 bucks and wallah!

Yup, that is what I keep trying to tell her, lol, but she isn't buying it!

You can buy a large potted evergreen at the grocery store for less than 20$. it will fit on a table very easily..they look pretty decorated and after the holiday you have a lovely houseplant.

hrm.. I think i'd be upset too.. i've never had to move dow though.. we used to do those nasty pasticky artifcial trees, but we started to get real ones a few years ago..

I only had ONE place to put a tree here, and well, it was taken over the summer by a HUGE fish tank that I can't move... and NOW, we are trying to figure out what to do with the tree. Milo needed a bigger home, so we improvised. Oh the drama of life! ;)

Can you remove a piece of furniture for a few weeks to make room for a tree? Just a thought.

I actually have a little 2' tree that I bought when I was in college... all we had room for. It's quite cute and I put it up every year in addition to our real tree. We also have seen 3' and 4' trees (actually until last year we used a 4-4.5' tree)

There are also ones desinged for corners (taking up less space) and slim designs so they can fit into smaller areas. Try looking around... hopefully you can find something that will work :)

What if you get a real tree, and just hang it upside down?
My old bosses, had the room to put up a regular tree the regular way, but had a tradition of having an upside down tree where they had their presents underneath it, and just hung it from the wall.

When I was living at home with my mom, we were in a very small apartment where there definitely wasn't room for a big tree. We would take everything off the corner end table, cover it with a festive cloth and put a four foot tree on it. Because it was elevated, it didn't look as puny as it might have. I've also seen the slim-line trees they have now. They're actually kind of nice in a minimalist, scandanavian way. On one of the black friday websites it says that Walmart will have a 7ft pre-lit slimline tree for, I think, $49.99. I'm sure you'll find a way to make your home look festive for the holidays.

DH and I can only put up half our tree. It's fake of course, but we only fill in half of it and put it up against one wall. Last year we tried the whole tree, but it was crowded and that tree bites you! Ouch. A couple years ago, I did a little 18" tree on a low stool. It was cute.

We move around our furniture to fit our tree in. It is important to me to have it up. Plus it is only for a month or so. :)

Check with local nurseries- the ones around here sell table top evergreens.

We actually put out dining room table away during Christmas so we can have a tree

I can relate to your dilemma. I lived in a 600 sq ft condo for 10 years. Absolutely no room for a tree whatsoever. So I literally went for ten years without a tree. :(

This will be my 2nd Christmas in my new house. :) Can't wait to put up that tree!

you could get one like Charlie Brown

How about going to a xmas tree lot, find the smallest tree they have, and ask 'em to lop off the top for a tabletop-size tree?

Then...use the rest of the greenery for door swags, dining centerpiece, wall decorations, etc., (using your leftover decorations from your normal sized trees).

Denise < --- did 3 trees last year and actually prefer my two little "themed" trees to the main one.
