No Rolling Collapsible Coolers?

Just told by DCL that a rolling collapsible cooler, carry on size, is
not allowed? From prior posts I was thinking it was ok for alcohol?

In order to maintain a safe and secure environment for our Guests and crew, the following are examples of items that Guests are not allowed to bring on board. These and other similar items will be confiscated upon being found.

Weapons and firearms (including ammunition, knives—including dive knives—swords, daggers or any other types of weapons) are not allowed onboard under any circumstances
Realistic replicas of firearms and weapons
Highly flammable liquids and combustible substances
Non prescribed controlled substances, illegal drugs, medically prescribed and synthetic marijuana
Power Tools and Tool boxes (except those tools of the trade utilized by vendors providing services)
Sporting equipment (i.e., baseball and cricket bats, hockey and lacrosse sticks, pool cues, ski poles, fishing gear and archery equipment.)
SCUBA equipment (i.e., tanks, spears guns /slings, dive knives, pry bar, and underwater scooter)
Kites, balloons, surfboards, wave boards, inflatable floats/pools (including pool noodles), and wagons
Bicycles, Segways, skateboards, inline & roller skates, any footwear with wheels, (i.e. Heely's type shoes)
Electrical appliances such as rice cookers, hot plates, coffee makers, electric irons, bottle sterilizer and bottle warmers, electric blankets, electric blenders, etc. Please note: A limited number of approved bottle warmers and bottle sterilizers are available upon request through Guest Services. Also all ships offer laundry facilities with irons and ironing boards. Valet laundry service is also available for a nominal fee.
Candles & Incense
DVD, VCR, or Blu ray players or, Playstation, Xbox, and Nintendo Wii gaming systems are not allowed because of compatibility issues with the stateroom TVs
Musical instruments
Large Ice Coolers (Please note: small, personal-sized coolers, no larger than 12" x 12" x 12" brought onboard for the purpose of housing medications are permitted as carry-on luggage.)

Small, soft-sided coolers have been allowed onboard. No ice is permitted to be brought onboard inside the cooler.

My experience is exactly that of PrincessSchmoo. I've never seen them enforce the size restriction as long as it fits thru the scanner. Absolutely no ice--who knows what bad people like us might have frozen into our ice!

I'm the ultimate sweet and innocent. OK, truth....I do freeze ice tea so that it can stay cold on car trips!

But DCL is strict about the "no ice" rule.

I was told that it is because if the ice leaks while going through the scanner it can damage the equipment.

Though you do make me question your ice as well, K. LOL!

is that 12x12x12 the same size for a carry on. We were just going to use one of our small suitcases for our carry on. Put the alcohol & our other onboard items that we need it.

DCL says the max size for a regular carryon is 22X14X9.

From my conversations with DCL the standard size carry on that you would use for a plane is acceptable for DCL.

The cooler thing is interesting to me as I can't get a real answer from DCL as I am not wanting a whole 6 pack and pay 30 bucks for it either, so I was just going to bring 2 (non glass) in a small lunch cooler and in my carry on (day bag). Has anyone done this? We have a private veranda and I want to go out on it one night while kids are sleeping, kick back and enjoy a drink at sea.

I will have to say...frozen tea cubes...i will have to remember that one!

Lots of people have. A few people in this thread have already said they have. As far a glass containers that is no issue. I carried on a few bottles of wine. If you call DCL the agents on the phone don't necessarily understand all the rules. If you say "Can I bring a cooler?" they will tell you no. But you can have a collapsible or soft sided cooler. When you say small lunch cooler I take that to mean a small insulated lunch bag? That would be fine.
