No response from Disney?

Two weeks ago, I traded with VMK user "chrisjenkins": my Aladdin Flying Carpet Chair for his pair of boat teleporters. I immediately set up the teleporters in my room and found they didn't work; stepping in either one would do the teleport effect, but wouldn't actually move me to the other. So apparently they're a mismatched pair.

Right away I reported this via the "Call for Help" to ask for help finding chrisjenkins again to trade back, but an admin rather snippily told me that "Call for Help" is only a "911 service" and that I should go to the VMK web site and submit my problem there.

So I did - I went to the web site and submitted a request that the boat teleporters I was carrying around be fixed so that they would work with each other. The web site told me I could expect a response within 24 hours.

A week later, not having gotten any response and having nothing in my spam log to say that Disney had tried to contact me, I submitted my problem again and this time was told I could expect a response within 48 hours.

It's now a week after that. My boat teleporters still don't work with each other. "chrisjenkins" apparently no longer exists in VMK, because I can no longer type his name (it shows up as ###).

Is Disney really this far behind on their problem emails? Or do they just not bother with issues like this?
 
Looking for two vmk characters : Lynny and MACK I have two jungle cruise teleporters I got in a trade ( my first trade a while back ) and afterward found out they don't match .......Maybe one of mine will match yours......wouldn't hurt to try .. I have set up my two in empty skull room with note on room title of teleporter situation and also on picture on wall inside room Really would like to find these two players and give them the teleporter I have to match theirs. SO if anyone knows Lynny or Mack Please direct them my way.
 
chrisjenkins just posted on the other VMK board, so he exists in some form!
 
This seems to be a new trading problem in VMK. I can assure you that VMK Staff and Community Leaders are well aware of trading issues that are going on right now.

Call for Help truly is an emergency button only. I understand your frustration as my boyfriend had many items stolen from him during a trade gone bad a few weeks ago. Have you sent the player's name and exact items that you are having issues with to the Contact Us link on the home page? If you did, VMK Staff will look into the problem.

I hope this works out for you! In the meantime, focus on getting ready for this weekend's big event! :wizard:
 

Nikki - if they're looking into the problem then I'm glad, but the Contact Us form gave me a specific timeframe each time that's now long in the past. And, the Newsletter page recently had a note saying something to the effect of, "if you didn't get a reply from us, then check your anti-spam filter and resubmit your problem." It kind of sounded like *I* was being blamed for not having gotten a reply yet. I know for sure my anti-spam filter isn't in the way.

Do you have some sort of "inside connection" with the admins of the game? If so, would you please pass along a suggestion? The dictionary filter should be turned *off* for the Call For Help window. if I'm reporting an urgent problem to the admins, I shouldn't have to argue with the dictionary over what words and punctuation I'm allowed to use. That's like putting a grammar teacher on a 911 line.

I'm curious - what's "this weekend's big event"? I want to know what to look forward to! :)
 
If I recall correctly, at the beginning of beta, there was no dictionary in the call for help window, but then they decided to implement it. I agree with you, but clearly they do not.

I would *not* be hopeful about recovering your items -- experience has suggested that bad trades do not frequently get resolved by the VMK staff.

I agree, too. The dictionary does make it frustrating. But, I can also see their viewpoint on it all.

The only thing I can suggest is to resubmit once more, but not more than twice. I know they did look into my boyfriend's bad trade and saw that the player already sold/traded his items so nothing could be recovered. :rolleyes: There's truly not much else you can do.

This weekend's event is being discussed in a post here on this forum. It is going to center around pins and be a lot of fun! :Pinkbounc

I'm just curious - what *is* their viewpoint on it? What's the purpose of being only allowed to use approved words and punctuation in a "911 call"?
 
ElectricLime, I am not sure, but you might try typing CL_chrisjenkins. Like they said, I know he exists, and it seems like he might be a CL now? Just a thought, if you're looking for him.
