I called down Friday and added on 110 points and got the 100 developer points. On Saturday, I called to make a reservation for May. The CM said the reservation was guaranteed but he could not give me the reservation number because of the developer points. He said accounting would be emailing me the number. He said it would take a few business days... Is this right? Should I call back and demand a reservation number?

Thanks in advance,

No you do not get a reservation number when using dev points you will have to wait for your written confirmation or e-mail.:goodvibes
Also is should'nt show up online either.
Have no idea why but i booked 2 weeks ago with my dev points and yesterday it showed up on my activity statement with dvcmember.com and it shows up in my vacation inventory too!!:confused3

There are several threads here on the caveats of using Developer points.

They have many restrictions.

DP's are processed manually. Your reservation is submitted on a ticket to a different area of MS and they place your reservation.
Your confirmation will take a little longer to receive than usual, but its good they offered to email you the number.
DP's are in a sub-account, not your main account, so even after you receive your ressie number, they will not show up on your online account and MS may have a hard time locating that reservation if you call to add or change anything. Be sure to let them know you used DP's so they know where to look.
DP's cannot be banked and they cannot be used in the 8-11 month window.
I found them to be a PITA and will only accept DP's "in addition to" a discount but not instead of. I believe the current promo is "in addition to"
I would use them quickly on a ressie that is not going to change and I would definitely not rent them, too much to go wrong.

How long after you receive the DP will they expire? Hopefully you can use them up to a year, they are worthless if you only have a few months to use them.

You have 12 months to use them.
But they can only be booked 7 months out.
