No rental car

I am planning 2011 and know that I can do a 10 night stay with no rental car. Catch the magic express and use Disney transportaion we have done it before and found it very relaxing. This is where the problem comes in we want to do Universal which I know we can cab it very easily but I would also like to get to the outlet mall. I think I read you can catch a bus to it but I am not sure, if you can bus it who has done it and how do you to do it. We will be staying at SS.

Have you called the concierge desk at SSR? If you call the main resort number and ask to speak with the concierge desk, they can tell you what transportation choices are available to get to main attractions, like the outlet mall. The main SSR switchboard is (407) 827-1100.

Budget has a location in the park. Just give them a call and they will pick you up and bring you to their site and return you when you finish. We did this last December when we went to Sea World and the outlet mall.

FYI - the Budget location isn't open 24 hours. My memory is foggy but I think it closes at 8:00. I had to wake up early the next day to return the car. We couldn't pass on the opportunity to eat off property for 1 night!

We stayed for 10 nights last April/May with no rental car. Very doable.

There are a ton of rental car places in the DTD resorts ... you can walk from SSR or many of them will even pick you up. Off the top of my head, there is an Alamo in Buena Vista Palace, Dollar in Regal Sun, Budget in Double Tree, and Avis at the Hilton. We've rented a car for as little as $30 for one day before. If you're staying for such a long time, this will also give you a chance to pick up a few groceries off property.
