On the subject of Giselle from Enchanted as a princess...

I think it's because the story never says Giselle is a princess, in fact she even says that she's not a princess but "will be soon" meaning once she marries prince Edward.

She never actually marrries him as she falls in love with the other dude, so she never becomes a real princess....

I've seen these movies way way way too much :) :) :)

Just wanted to give my two cents :)

Mulan is NOT a princess! She's a hero, for goodness sake!

Mulan is so underrated a character, however she is NOT a princess. She is a butt-kicking saviour of China! :goodvibes

Wow, you guys are totally right! She's not really a princess either!!!! Okay....so who okayed to include her and not Giselle?!?!?!?! lol ;)

I said the same thing...then realized that I've seen this movie way too many times. Even at 18months it's my daughters favorite movie and we watch it at least once a day.:rotfl2:

And if you really want to get technical- Nancy becomes a princess :cutie: She does marry Edward! Princess Nancy- I like it haha

THANK YOU! This is one of my biggest arguments  I usually duke it out with my friends about her.... they never win :rolleyes1
We're not saying she isn't awesome- she's just not a princess! She's a kick-butt hero!

I did notice Kevin (I think) said that the Princess & the Frog will be the first hand-drawn animated movie since Lilo & Stitch. In fact, Treasure Planet (November 17, 2002) and Brother Bear (October 20, 2003) came after L&S (June 16, 2002) (I still maintain that Brother Bear was one of the best Disney movies that no one's seen). That was then followed by Home on the Range (March 21, 2004 - a very forgettable film).

I claim that as the Emperor’s New Groove. I LOVE that film!

Ironically, Brother Bear was the last movie fully produced at DHS (then Disney-MGM Studios of course) - and the previous one was Lilo & Stitch.

But one point about Treasure Planet - it DID include CGI in parts, so it was not 100% hand drawn.

Okay so if Mulan was not a princess, then

Cinderella was not a princess at the start of the movie, right?
Snow White was not as well, right?
Belle was not, right?

But at WDW these are considered Princesses, so what gives?

Well, they did all MARRY into royalty...Mulan did not if I'm not mistaken...

Actually, wasn't Snow White a princess by birth?

I hope I'm not wrong but I think that Snow White was a princess at the begginin of the movie... because she was step daughter of the evil queen?? correct me if I'm wrong:thumbsup2

Wasn't Snow White's father the king? Thus making her stepmother the evil queen? I think Snow White and Aurora were princesses by birth, Cinderella and Belle were not, they married into royalty. Mulan is not a princess.

Funny that we are so serious about our princess facts!! LOL!

Snow White- Born Royal then married in.
Cinderella- Married in
Ariel- Technically Royal under the sea, so she married royal as well. She is a royal all over!
Belle- Married in
Mulan- Married a soldier, no royal connections at all, except saving China.
Aurora- Born royal and marries in, does well there.
Jasmine- Born Royal
Pocohontas- Daughter of a head of a tribe, does that make her a princess?? Debatable, and marries an English Lord (in the second film, if I remember rightly) so doesn't do too badly.
Alice- Sometimes mentioned, no royal connections except the brief run in with Queen of Hearts.
Other honourable mentions: Nala, Megara, Minnie and Maid Marion.

That's the line up!

And don't forget Princess Leia (maybe not a Disney princess, but she did appear in a parade). Of course, I'm not sure how George Lucas handles royal titles - she was the daughter of a Senator. Queen Amidala abdicated to become a Senator...

Disney could also have "honorary" princesses, or "princess equivalents" (solves the Pocahontas issue). Mulan could have been "created" a noble for her service to her country...

Totally agree with Brother Bear, loved that movie! Very underrated IMHO

Didn't Lilo & Stitch have CGI too? Along with previous movies like Aladdin, Beauty & the Beast, and even The Black Cauldron?
