No ponchos on Frozen

We just rode Frozen 3 times in 10 days a few weeks ago, and barely got splashed one time - didn't see anyone else wet. Would not consider it a 'wet' ride.

How is the drop?

It's like a big slide, not like a splash plunge.. it's more the design of what's at the bottom where you hit the water, turn right while there is rocks in the water that the waves bounce off of and into the boat...

To all commenting that this is no big deal and we should suck it up because it's a safety protocol and that's that: my wearing a poncho doesn't hurt anyone else. It never has hurt anyone else on Splash or Kali either.

If it is truly a rule, then I'm not going to try to defy it and wear my poncho anyway until I'm forcibly removed, but I can surely think it's ridiculous and complain about it (both here and to Disney).

Could it have something to do with the ride being indoors?

I can't imagine why it could be, but that's what is different between FEA vs. Splash Mountain and Kali River.

What's the difference between a poncho and a windbreaker and a hood? Maelstrom had a "you may get" warning and it's the same track so getting wet is not surprising.

My guess is the CMs were messing around, but am curious if others were told they couldn't wear a poncho.

I think it's surprising because even though the warning was there, on Maelstrom people never actually did (or, rarely did get wet).

They definitely weren't messing around. Every single CM said it.

I got wet on FEA last summer. It was annoying because I wasn't expecting it. I was in the front row. I had my camera out; I was worried about it. I would have appreciated a thread like this so that I was prepared. So, OP, thanks for posting about your experience.

I'm having a hard time understanding how a poncho could possibly be a safety hazard. When it's rainy season, people wear ponchos all day long. They are making every one undress and hold their wet ponchos before getting on the ride? That seems really weird to me.

I honestly thought the reason for no ponchos on rides were to prevent parents from sneaking on babies onto rides that had height requirements.

? Then they wouldn't allow ponchos on any rides with water. And they allow them. Except apparently this one, recently. Which is bizarre.

There's just no safety reason for it.

It's all my doing. I put a hex on the ride because I'm mad it took away my beloved Maelstrom.

Eek. I better be careful with the hatred I put out towards what DCA has done to TOT!
