Hi I just got my member number from a resale, logged on, and saw ZERO points that should have been banked and it wont let me borrow either for this year-zero points to borrow ( DEC use) Is Disney just slow or should i get my lawyer involved ( lol)

thanks

Hi, with both of our resale contracts the memberships were set up/showed online before the points were loaded. Most recently it was about two days before the points showed up. I think perhaps one group handles the membership setup and another the actual point allocation. Keep watching!

Well nice if the resale company mentioned this..... Thanks I was going crazy here.

Agree with above poster. We had a resale close in January it took about 12-24 hours for the points to actually show even though the membership was there!

it almost always shows up as zero points. ive called about it and about half the time they are loaded that day after a phone call and the other half it still takes a day or two after initially showing up.

It's because a one person sets up the account and another manually transfers the points from the old contract # to the new. No big deal but it's an understandable concern (not that new members are anxious to get on and book a room or anything..... We're all super patient ;))

I really never understood that part. Why would one setup the account and not load the points, its seems kind a stupid to have two or more people involved in that. Ohh well that way there will be work for everyone.

Kind of like setting up our account for the first time - membership number from one person, club number and activation code from another. Member services, member accounting, IT etc... or so it would seem.

Not necessarily. The group that handles the points is probably the same that does the overrides during a hurricane cancelations or approved policy exceptions (like late banking, member mistakes using the web site, etc). There's another group that handles resale and contract transfers. I can see those being separate as they perform entirely different functions. One is more legal-related, the other more member admin.

Once the contract is transferred after a resale transaction closes, the points override is handed off to the member admin team.

All the more reason they shouldn’t be giving your member number out over the phone; or at least waiting until the account is fully configured.

OK Well I called and I received all my points instantly. I don't know why they cant just do this automatically. However, the lady on the phone was nice and the problems are solved.

Congrats and welcome home.
