No penalties for cancelling your last day when you arrive?

Here's a bit of an odd thing.

I was just on the phone with the CRO, looking at cancelling the final day of my package that I have booked. The CM who I was talking with said that it couldn't be done as the reservations system was down at that time. She then said that I can do it when I arrive at the resort and cancel the final day then if I still want to.

I asked whether I would be refunded the money I paid for the last night of the package (accomodation and dining plan) and she said yes. I then asked whether there would be any sort of fee or penalty. She said no.

This seems a bit odd to me, given the 45 day limitation. As the CM was a bit of a grump and unhelpful on other things I thought I would just check with the helpful people on the DIS whether anyone can confirm that they have successfully done this?

(My dining reservations CM by contrast was great! A box of birds, so I have no general complaint about unhelpful CMs, just to be clear)
 
I think that is only applicable to room only reservations.......I have friends who did that once.
 

Thanks for the advice! It looks like we're going to stick with our original departure date afterall so it's just as well that I didn't amend the booking - I guess it was pixie dust keeping the reservations system out of order? :)
