Just sayin'.

This was my Gold CC member 105 day out threshold! Logged on at midnite (said so on my phone and computer) to the planning page. At least 3 minutes went by before the DCL site would let me start booking (kept saying - in effect - that my window wasn't open yet). Finally let me in, NO brunches were available. There is one sea day on my July Dream cruise; I assume that brunch is available that day.

I'll check back periodically, of course. And I do agree that they should (and do) keep some ressies back for newer cruisers. Just surprised that 3 minutes after the Gold window opened, brunch wasn't even an option.:confused3

Hope everyone else got what they were hoping for tonight!!:goodvibes

I guess concierge and platinum got them all ; here is to hoping you get one one board.

Since we were a party of two we got several reservation at Palo. When we had brunch it wasn't even crowded. When we had dinner the same thing. We ask our server about it and he told us that they save a lot of reservation for people to book on board.

I had asked a question about Brunch and High Tea for the cruise we had taken. Both were unavailable when I went on-line to reserve them and someone responded that even being Gold CC members (we are Silver) does not guarantee reservations. They go that quickly. Keep checking and good luck.

On the new ships with brunch being so popular, they should really start offering it in Remy. I can dream.

we were on a recent DREAM cruise and frankly PALO was a disappointment for both Brunch and Dinner. Portion sizes were larger than in the past but the plating and, taste, and menu just weren't what I had always remembered. Brunch also seemed to be having much less to chose from. Maybe that was just my perception, but if I didn't get the ressie I really wouldn't sweat it.

Diz, it would be great if they offered it in Remy's as well - I'd love to give it a try, but the dinner doesn't suit this humble palate.;)

ppiew - I had noticed on my past few sailings (since the recession began) that buffet options all around on the DCL ships had gotten slimmer. I also noticed that the portions at meals were smaller, but I don't mind that if it cuts down on waste (waist??!), as we can always order more.:thumbsup2 I do recall my extreme frustration at having no BUTTER - just butter substitutes on the table. Bring me butter!!!

I was just surprised by the lack of any brunch opportunity - but not disappointed. I was just posting to show that this happens even at Gold. We've enjoyed Palo's in the past, let someone else have enjoy it this time! And, if we really want it come July, I bet we get can a ressie once on board.

We tried at 90 day, and have been trying randomly and nothing. There was only one dinner ressie at the 90 day for Palo for the first night that was not ideal but we took anyway! We'll try and switch and book onboard.

My first time booking as a Gold member for a June Dream cruise and had plenty of Palo options at midnight-even tea which I had never been able to get online before.

I think it is just luck on how many repeat cruisers you happen to get on your sailing:confused3

I have had very good luck in the past getting something on the ship either on embarktion day or on the wait list.

If you find yourself getting stressed checking back on the website every day then I would wait until you get on the ship.

Good luck:thumbsup2

By any chance, do you know/remember what the availability for Remy was like?

I'm in the same boat that I couldn't do regular Remy. What I was hoping for was the same Palo brunch menu in both restaurants.

Can Disers band together and get private room like we could on the older ships?

I logged on at midnight on my 90th day.

I'm Silver CC Member.

I couldn't get ANYTHING-no Palo brunch/tea or Palo dinner.

Guess I'll be waiting in line on embarkation day hoping for something! :)

Obviously, it is a matter of supply and demand. Since brunch and tea are on sea days only and on a Dream sailing you have 1000+ cabins and one sea day....you get the picture.

I'm gold and for both our B2B Dream cruises I was able to get brunch, high tea and dinner ressies for all 5 in the party. I was very surprised!

PoohJen: was the not real butter recent? They did that on our last cruise almost 2 yrs ago and I wasn't happy. I rarely eat bread and I wanted real butter when I did.

A couple of years ago, they started putting out both real butter and butter substitute. Slowly they have changed it and now they automatically put out only butter substitute. We always ask for real butter and they bring it (usually by day 3 they catch on and have real butter on the table instead of the fake stuff).

We asked last time and were told that there was only substitute available. Butter was no longer available because of cost. Had it confirmed by an officer. On that cruise it was one of many things that were cheapened down. It was very disappointing. I was hoping thingshave changed. Charge a premium, give premium service.

That is disappointing. I agree with you about "Charge a premium, give permium service."

On the last cruise in '09 I missed the cut up mangos and papayas too with the cut up fruit.

NO MANGOS?????????????????????????????
were there any on CC?

on both of our cruises, DD and I totally pigged out on mango at serenity bay...that was all we ate (and we ate at least our weight in it)....
i sure hope they still have mangos at serenity bay...

We just cruised on the Dream (3/27). Once we got onboard I went to Palo/Remy to try to book brunch. We were 4th on the waiting list--and we got a call the night before our sea day and we got in! I was really happy because it was our 20th anniversary that day.

pixiedust: Here's some pixie dust to get in once you are on the ship!
