No One Loses Weight Like Gaston - November 2015 W.I.S.H Challenge

Yeah....eating out is such a struggle for me too. Sometimes I do great....but then later when I get home I end up eating more because I deprived myself at lunch.

Yes! Eating out is very difficult. On Sunday DH and I were trying to decide where to go for lunch on a budget and I was calculating points and it was shocking. I just kept saying "no wonder why I've gained 70 pounds."

Has anyone here used Shutterfly or similar sites before?

I've used shutterfly and really like it! They deliver super quickly and are pretty cheap. And they have sales a lot so I usually take advantage of those so that I only end up paying for shipping. I've never done it with pictures on an actual camera before, only phone pictures. The quality was great too. So I recommend shutterfly if you haven't already decided. :)

Today was a bit... enlightening. With 9 pounds to go I thought that it was time to start looking at those Kate Spade dresses. I went into the store and tried on everything available... and NOTHING fit because my boobs are still too big! It turns out she designs dresses for the flat chested folks and those of us who are a bit more endowed can't play in her sandbox.

Preach it! This is one of the most frustrating things ever!! I encounter this all the time. A dress fits perfectly up to my chest and then I have to go one to two sizes up and then it's too big everywhere else! So annoying.

I had a pretty great weekend! I will admit that I did eat a few (4-5) chips at the mexican restaurant on Saturday but not nearly as many as I usually do. I was pretty proud of that! I did eat some of my weekly points values this weekend for sure. I didn't eat them all but I tracked all of them because I didn't want to be tempted to overeat during the week. So this week I'll have to stick to my daily PPV and then if I earn activity points I might eat some as well.

The other exciting thing is that I tried on a size 12 jean at Old Navy and they fit!! They zipped and I wasn't uncomfortable! :worship: I was so excited that I bought them LOL. I'm currently wearing a size 14 from there and at my heaviest I was in a 14 but ripped a pair of them which means I probably should have been in a 16. The size 12 give me a tiny bit of a muffin top so I'm not quite ready to wear them. I'm hoping that by the end of the year they'll be perfect.

That is AWESOME! Doesn't sound insane to me at all!

As for me-- I had a great time at the Jingle Jungle 5K! Y'all--- I can see now why people get addicted to that kind of stuff.... so much fun! Disney knows how to make something very tedious for me a blast. Haha! @DVCFan1994 -- You were right-- no sweeping. It was totally relaxed! Thank you so much for tipping me off to that!

Eating at Disney was (as expected) a disaster, but I am please to report that as of this morning I am actually down by 0.3 lb. This is clearly evidence that Disney magic does indeed exist!

Anyway, back on the tracking train today... Happy Monday!

That is awesome! I am so glad you enjoyed the 5k! Their races are addicting, you barely feel like you are exercising with all the distractions:) I am glad you were relaxed about the sweeping and could really enjoy the atmosphere, great job!

NICE!!:thumbsup2:thumbsup2 I am dragging out my favorite pair of jeans I used to fit in  I want to get there again.

I surprised myself by not cheating at all this weekend. DSO surprised me with a rare night out. OMG fighting back the urge for big bowl of pasta & a few martinis. I just had to keep thinking cruise in 6 months. I think I will take a picture of the dress I dragged out of the back of my closet from when I was actually healthy. I WILL wear that dress on this cruise. Thank Goodness I have 6 months!

After a not so great weekend, I'm trying to get back on track this week -

Got up early for me at 6:00 and got in an hour on the treadmill. Decided that if I wanted to get more steps, the easiest thing to do is start early!

Had a healthy breakfast of eggs with spinach and some whole wheat toast. Plus a glass of water to start off the day right.

We've got leftovers for lunch, but I already tracked them and it fits just fine into my daily goals :). I also didn't pack myself a Nutty Bar for dessert - my husband really likes these things for lunches, but I just about had a heart attack when I found out that one package is 310 calories!! Those will only be for special occasions for me I think.

Put in the recipe for dinner tonight so I know I really just need 1 quesadilla, not 2 (especially if we're having chips). Figured out what a serving of chips is so I can stick some in a bowl for me and just eat those. We got some cheese dip to have with them, and I'm going to try to eat just a bit of it and not go crazy :P

And hopefully with my step goal met and some extra exercise calories, I'll still have room for a bit of dessert tonight - which I am going to actually measure instead of just assuming that my eyeballing is close. Have to get serious if I'm going to make anything close to my goal this month :D

@courtneybeth I am just thinking ahead to next weekend. I'll be away at DL for Avengers weekend from Wednesday to Monday, arriving home Monday afternoon. Can I wait to submit my weight check-in Monday? Should I skip the week? Or should I do my weigh in at zero dark thirty before I leave for the airport Wednesday? Just not sure how to handle the fact I'll have no access to a scale while away.

You can submit on Monday. I'm on the Left Coast, so numbers won't be up until around this time next week :)

Hi :dogdance: I am new here.
So last night I was laying in bed thinking about how DONE I am with gaining weight and not being comfortable in my own skin when I thought 'I wonder if there is a weight loss thread on the Dis?'. Low and behold, there is! So here I am. If updating has already taken place for the week/month I can wait for the next round. I just really wanted to get into a group of like-minded 'losers' :teeth:.

I am 5'9 and 184lbs. My goal is 150 and I want to shoot for about 8 pounds a month. I am going to fire up my dusty fitbit (actually steal my husbands--mine drowned in cleavage sweat during my last weight loss streak. Life lesson: don't clip them to your sports bra during a workout. :crazy2:). I am considering joining WW, at least online for now. My gym closed down so I am going to look into finding a new place. My biggest challenge is the evening. My brain seems to be programmed to demand food (of the cheesy, carby, sugary type) and a lot of it from 6 pm until bedtime. I have little to no self-control and have always fought wth compulsive eating tendencies, but I am ready for a fight.

Next Disneyworld trip is in May. I want to be comfortable in my body and less self-conscious. Aaaand smaller for my annual Victoria Secret Outlet binge (because can you go to Disney and NOT stop by the outlets?) :rolleyes1

Here's to making good food choices and feeling better about myself :drinking1(that's a protein shake of course)

WEEK 1 RESULTS...

Great job this week, everyone. We have some people that are already over half way to their goal!

Don't fret if the month is taking you a little while to get going - you've got three weeks to go.

And a big congrats to @JacknSally for being the closest to the weekend trivia challenge question.
The correct answer was 83 million. That's a lot of ear hats!

Question of the Day - November 9

Cogsworth is doing his best to lead the dishes through their daily workout routine.
With the challenge 25% of the way done, it's time to reflect upon your first week and think about what you did or didn't do. There was a common theme of frustration in the first week results, whether it was from sickness, having 'too much fun', or simply just not seeing the number wanted on the scale. It's a fresh week with lots of possibility ahead of us - let's not let the scale get the better of us. We got this - let's make this week a HUGE loss! :)

What will you do differently this week to see better results on the scale?
If you were satisfied with your results, what will you do to keep the momentum going?

.

If I submit on Monday it won't be until late in the day, like 6-7 PM eastern. So I think I will log a weight before I go Wednesday and then, I will see if the fitness center at the hotel has gym which may have a scale. If they do not, I'll use my Wednesday weight.

I am happy that the scale finally moved for me, and it seems to be holding steady so far. To keep the momentum going this week I will continue to be mindful of what I am eating. I will keep eating more servings of fruits and veggies and controlling my servings of non whole grain carbs. This week I have a trip to DL, so I suppose some splurging is in order. I think for this week my own mini goal will be not to gain at DL. I do have three races and 4 park days to keep me in check. But, I have two travel days with a long time of sitting on airplanes and poor availability of healthy food options.

I was one of the many who wasn't happy with my results... so I'll be doing my best to: get a good night's sleep every day, walk at least 9,000 steps per day, and try my best at the Avengers 5K on Friday.

Last week the weather changed.... which meant that it wasn't that easy to sleep. I feel like big changes will come this week!

Well I feel I am right where I want to be, I am going to continue to be truthful in my tracking and not snack after dinner..

Well I am happy but want to get a little more for next week. The eating plan is to start a food journal, really see when & what I am eating. I will go back to my habit of nothing after 7pm.

I re charged the Fitbit, which I won't put in my sports bra. My goal is up the numbers by 10% every 3 days until I hit at least 10,000 a day. I also plan to break out my old training schedule and work my way up

I'm going to try to keep my movement momentum up from this weekend. Of course, being at WDW, I often doubled my step goal-- and it's nice seeing my tracker showing that I'm meeting and exceeding my goal. Plus it was a nice surprise this morning when I realized that my awful eating had not undone my hard work since I was so active--- imagine what the scale could look like if I kept moving at home and eating as well as I had been before Disney?!?! That was a nice "ah-ha" moment if you will. So I am inspired to keep moving this week to get that scale moving even more!

The scale was kind to me last week but I know that I could have done better. Unfortunately, I let stress and frustration from last week get the better of me and effect my food choices which I think is what kept me from losing more last week. So this week my goal is to stick with my meal plan. No last minute fast food trips instead of cooking dinner! I also plan on going to the gym Wednesday, Thursday, Friday. Tonight and Tuesday I'm unavailable and I know that I need to get the workouts in so those will be my 3 days.

Question of the Day - November 9

Every day is a new beginning -- every meal is a chance to make good decisions. I'm going to keep tracking and drink more herbal tea ( my water intake goes down with this chilly weather!) I roasted a ton of veggies to serve as a side tonight with leftovers going into egg white omelettes for breakfast this week.

@JacknSally -- I know you're our resident fan of Hollywood Studios and I decided that when I go in May 2016 for our Spring Trip that I'd give it another shot with Star Wars Weekends. How can anyone be against Breakfast with Boba Fett, right? Turns out this morning that Disney announced they've cancelled Star Wars Weekends for 2016! So... I will not be liking Hollywood Studios now. It was one of the reasons we wanted to go in May LOL. #FailDisney

BUT! The reason they're doing away with SWW is that there will be Star Wars Every Day when the new land opens up! :rotfl:

I'm sad about this, too, though. Logic is prevailing and I, the queen of "buyer's remorse", have talked us back out of our spontaneous driving adventure for the Osborne lights. Unfortunately I already bought our one-day DHS tickets  but at least I hadn't booked a hotel room yet! So now we're trying to figure out other times when we could go back, and May was one of those options, specifically because I wanted DH to experience SWW. Now we're thinking we could try to take vacation time the week after Thanksgiving next year, leave on Black Friday 2016, and stay several days and experience Magic Kingdom at Christmas. Who knows how many times our plans will change before we actually make it back, haha.

I'm just gonna try to keep the exercise train going...making sure I get a bare minimum of 30 minutes per day 6 days a week. I'm going to keep watching what I eat especially at work. And hopefully at the end of this month I will be where I haven't been in about 6 years...under 220.
