No more smoking or vaping in the parks

Do you have a crystal ball the rest of do not have access to? You can’t say if the smoking ban along with the ice and strollers will have any effect or not. Disney isn’t going to tell you if it does.

We don’t know if paying to park had any effect on the number of returning guests and we won’t know with this.

We will easily be able to infer the answer to all these questions in a couple years.

If the policies are relaxed in the future we know there was an unanticipated negative impact or the policies will remain in which case we know the impact was exactly as predicted. Granted that does not tell you specifically if attendance drops but it does tell you if the change if any was as anticipated.

There are other industry examples:
Carnival launched the Carnival Paradise as a smoke free ship in November of 1998 and dropped the smoke free policy in December 2003.

Let him who is witout sin , and all that lol. No one is perfect. Just remember everyone has there own demons to face. It is what it is , and only time will tell how it will play out. All were doing now is speculating on what may occur. Im thinking most will follow the rules, but others will not. There not smoking where they should be now, so there braking the rules. Why does anyone think that these people will follow the new rules? To me it comes down to rude people that dont consider others, in life you will meet a lot of them.

I agree. None of us are perfect. No one is condemning the person rather the entitled attitude that you should be able to engage in your addiction wherever you please no matter who it affects. I think that’s the issue that gets so many angry with smokers. There are a lot of addictions that are difficult to overcome. But, ppl addicted to other substances don’t tend to be as belligerent about being allowed to do it where they please. It’s most likely b/c it used to be a more socially accepted addiction, but it’s not anymore & it’s only going to get worse.

Which LV strip resorts have implemented and then removed either resort or parking fees? To my understanding all strip resorts have resort fees and and all major resorts with the exception of Tropicana and Venetian/Palazzo have parking fees -- possibly Cosmopolitan as well, but I'm not certain of that one. MGM resorts would take a beating if they went back to free parking because events at T Mobile Arena would completely overrun the west side resorts.

Well... spent hours planning my trip from May 13-18, then found out about their new non smoking policies, I get it Disney can do whatever they wish in their parks and I can do the same with my cash(10K). called them up cancelled my grand Floridian reservation along all my restaurant bookings. They tried to give me a hard time about their non refundable park ticket and Disney after hours ticket policies (had those too) and that didn't go very far once I told them they would deal with my lawyers.

Yes its the smoking, but not only that.... whats next ? no straws, no sodas, no plastic water bottles, no tank tops... lol you see where all this is going... Adios Disney adios !

This has to be a joke. DAH is one things, but there is no way you got out of a non refundable park ticket from wdw.

Not sure its a slam dunk... parks are outside, not for Disney nor me to decide if one can be restricted from smoking exterior only a Judge can decide that.

School playgrounds & hospital parking lots are outside too. Can’t smoke there either. Good luck winning that case.

There have been room packages at various MGM and CET brands that have recently been bookable that specifically include free parking or no resort fee or both. The rates do not appear to be inflated to include the fees.

The Wynn resort dropped parking fees for registered guest back in July.

As for the T-Mobile arena, they could always go back to free parking for registered guests and continue to charge for non guests like Wynn.

Disboarders, at least some, are fanatics and would be fine if WDW said "Your ticket allows you to visit MK on Wednesday, April 10th, but no other park and you must give up being able to choose where to eat and what to ride on the spur of the moment BUT for only $60 more per ticket per day you can go to other parks"- oh wait.

Remember when Disney's children's lunches would only offer healthy choices? That went bye bye so we know that health of the little ones is not the motivating factor.
Remember when Disboarders were outraged at the suggestion that Disney would allow guests staying in higher end resorts more FP options than the rest of the guests? Good times

People outside of this bubble are not die hard Disney partisans. They think those putting up with all of these rules are nuts. I used to be one of the fanatics. Now, I've become one of those who think all of this is ridiculous.

What I feed my child doesn’t affect anyone else. Most of the other rules are designed to keep the MAJORITY of guests comfortable & happy. Ppl have proven time & time again that they’re often too rude & selfish to police themselves.

I'm sure they didn't make this decision lightly; they would have put a lot of thought and analysis into it and examined it from all angles. This wasn't just someone waking up one morning saying "hey, let's move the DSA out of the park gates!" There are also historical attendance numbers, so at some point in the future we should be able to find out the impact.

You can find more details in their sec filings. I don’t need a crystal ball to know that this won’t impact Disney. Their big push now is Disney+. That’s where they’re focused. And they’re also focused on their Fox merger. The Disney Parks is one part of their revenue stream.

Yes, and all while increasing park tickets, resort prices, and food costs. The economy is doing well. I am wondering when their bubble will burst. I am betting it won't be anytime soon.

You weren’t asking me, but...First-not going to happen. It’s just not that large of a population who smokes anymore. Like any other company, I would have to deal with their policies or choose not to go. I do, however, prefer the changes.

The concern I have is if Disney doesn’t be more informative about the bans. It has been on our local news ( Orlando) and a cable news show. Has it been in the news in the UK? Are they telling people when they make a reservation? Not everyone reads the online Disney boards.
