Holy cow. This is an unbelievably crass thing to say. This will continue until the smokers pass away.

Talking about the anti vs pro smoking talk that is beating the horse to death. The talk has moved to very general discussion versus this specific policy. What rights? I thought this was about Disney Parks, which means we’re talking about private property rights. Are you saying Disney doesn’t have the right to tell folks not to smoke in their parks?
I think you’re right to some extent. I think the parks are becoming more & more crowded & these new rules including the ice or aimed at keeping the MAJORITY of guests comfortable & safe. I do think they are expanding the parks, but it just draws more ppl. But, I also don’t think they have duty to expand the parks. Visitors know what they’re getting when they buy a tickets.I don't think Disney cares about our opinions, smokers or non-smokers. They've built a fun place to visit that makes it inconvenient to spend your dollars outside the parks/resorts. And people will continue to visit no matter what restrictions/bans they impose. Disney can get as ridiculous as they want and the majority of people will just follow along. I fully expect to be flamed for this because people don't like to hear they are actually sheeple.
What I get out of Disney's bands, all of them except the ice thing, is they have run out of room. More and more people are visiting and they don't have the space inside the parks. They need the spaces vacated by DSA's and wide strollers to pack more bodies in. Disney doesn't plan on a major expansion to accommodate the increase in visitors. And I'm not talking about a re-theme or the slight expansion of creating one or two short pathways to a new ride or two. They don't have a plan to accommodate the increase in visitors by the hundreds of thousands in a few short years.
Basic economics would indicate that not adapting means that they would eventually kill the golden goose.I think you’re right to some extent. Walt Disney smoked.I'm really surprised how mad people are about this. Like to me its surprising smoking was ever allowed
I think it's interesting that cigarette smoke travels at the same height all the way from the far corner of Italy all the way to Japan without dissipating upwards.Actually it is the same. The one in Epcot is near Italy. On a breezy day that smell went everywhere.
For the record...DIS stock is up! Glad I bought shares when I did.
It would be appreciated if notice were given when a link is a download. As for 3rd hand smoke, that article uses qualifying words and ends with the statement, "Thirdhand smoke is a relatively new concept, and researchers are still studying its possible dangers."Second hand smoke

There is one single DSA in the California park where SWGE is, on the path to the new area. Smoking is being moved outside all US parks, to reduce congestion on that path then for consistency.Does anybody else think that Disney’s timing for this smoking ban was deliberate to help thin out the crowds that SWGE will be creating?
Why do you think this?and they don’t have to pay that person to clean the area and empty the ashtrays/cans.
Which carcinogens in the air are acceptable to you?Whether or not I'm allergic to anything else has no bearing on the fact that I don't want your carcinogen in my lungs.
Nobody is immortal.I admit I have a problem with smoking, and I used to smoke. It kills people
Which smoker here has even implied, never mind stated, that they don't stink?or one of those smokers who mistakenly believes they don't stink.
Are you calling the EPA ridiculous? https://www.epa.gov/burnwise/wood-smoke-and-your-healthAre you really comparing cigarette smoke to camp fires? Can this get any more ridiculous?

There is theory about 3rd hand smoke
Sweetie? I don't have an issue discussing topics with you. That is if you don't try to patronize me
Maybe it's best you just step away from answering me on this topic at this point. I'll do the same![]()
Why do you think this?
The smokers in this thread are really starting to look rediculous in thier defense of this nasty habit.
The moment you can smell it is the same moment it's impregnated your clothes and hair, and you have to smell like a disgusting ashtray until your next shower....
I agree. None of us are perfect. No one is condemning the person rather the entitled attitude that you should be able to engage in your addiction wherever you please no matter who it affects. I think that’s the issue that gets so many angry with smokers. There are a lot of addictions that are difficult to overcome. But, ppl addicted to other substances don’t tend to be as belligerent about being allowed to do it where they please. It’s most likely b/c it used to be a more socially accepted addiction, but it’s not anymore & it’s only going to get worse.
Here you go ... this poster mentions her kid is going to miss out.
