After a hiatus from the boards, I came back to start the early planning stages of celebrating our 25th Wedding Anniversary, just the DH and me and the GF. This ban is a 100% deal breaker for me and that stinks. Its a shame the rule breakers ruin it for the rule followers, and I place blame at WDW itself for not policing their own rules. Dang it. Looks like a NCL cruise for me and my honey.
And the girlfriend (GF)? :rolleyes1:laughing:

Yes, I know GF is Grand Floridian.

Is it just the dh and me and the girlfriend. Or is is just the dh and me and the grand Floridian? I’m guessing the grand Floridian but the girl friend sounds more interesting.

If you're just in the early stages of planning, you have plenty of time to quit. Why not celebrate 25 years with a trip AND the gift of better health?? Make it more likely to get 25 more years!

Actually if I were a customer with a reservation at a monorail resort and gotten wind that Disney was pulling the monorails out of service for a significant portion of the day I'd be inclined to have changed my reservation to a resort where I wasn't paying the premium to have the easy monorail access.

The fact that Disney didn't bother to alert guests with reservations and guests making reservations that they were making this operational change is one of the (many) reasons we've elected not to return to WDW. What a sad state of customer service from the company who used to be able to honestly stake their claim to GUEST service and were respected for basically writing the handbook on how it's done.

Disney used to be a lot worse when it comes to notifying guests of any changes. A lot worse. As in, show up and the pool is out of service worse. I was told by the person claiming to the manager of Port Orleans Riverside that Disney didn't have to give guests notice of any changes. That was a few years ago and the guy was a tool, but that is what he said.

At least now you do get a bit of a heads-up when they are going to do maintenance. Or make changes like the banning of the stroller/wagon and moving of the smoking areas to outside of the parks.

Its the lesser of two evils, death by fire or death by another 25 years of marriage.......We're still going to celebrate 25 years, just not at WDW.

If you haven’t gone cruising with NCL since 2014 you might want to look over their smoking regulations. More restricted than it use to be.

I plan to quit smoking next week. That said, I will take only 1 more Disney trip next year to treat my grandkids and then, I’m done.

Disney could have 1 smoking area set aside in each park for those who want a cigarette, vape, cigar, etc. It could be set well away from those who are bothered by smoke. I don’t appreciate the nanny attitude from Disney. It’s demeaning. Hope Disney loses lots of business. My daughter and ber wife had planned a combined WDW/Uni trip but they’ve cut the Disney part. Neither smoke but like me, they don’t like Disney’s overlord slant.

3 days out? The policy doesnt go into effect until May 1st.

Thanks for pointing that out:) I looked for that thread but it's now 68 pages long. I remember thinking they will be there 3 days after it starts, and wrote it down wrong. My fault. They were freaking out because they couldn't change anything this late, for what ever reasons they had.
Thanks for letting me clarify that because it didn't make sense!

I've cruised since 2014 and their restrictions are nothing I can't and haven't worked with. last cruise, I actually saved money, because I didn't get a balcony since no smoking on there anyway.
