Just left AK. I was very surprised when I got to EE and found no single rider line. I asked the CM and said it was "gone". Did I miss a memo, or was this a random fluke that they weren't using it? I tried searching the boards & found nothing. I'd only ridden once before today and that was a year ago, so I was just relying on what I'd seen posted here about the single rider line. It ended up working out just fine - thanks to dwindling SB times and a FP from a generous person who couldn't use it, I was able to ride 3x in a row. Just wondering for future reference.

It sure was there in mid may. We used it every time we rode on both our AK days. Hope it's not gone!

News to me if it's permanently closed. It is not open sometimes, but as far as I know it is still there.

Might have decided to close it if the SB line was short? Only once have I seen a single rider line closed halfway through a day and that was RnR, it really confused me as it was a very busy day.

That's possible. The posted wait time was 35 minutes but it ended up being more like 15-20. But I didn't see a sign or entrance for it at all, which I thought was odd. Where is the SR entrance located normally?

I was just there yesterday and it was there, we had made a comment about how no one was using it (we were in the FP line).

I wonder if SR will be a thing of the past once FP+ comes to fruition.

We were there today. My DD13 and myself arrived at park around 3:30. We both rode single rider (ended up in same car) and then she did single rider two more times. We left and went to Dinosaur and then headed back. She wanted to do single rider again, but it was closed. We then rode stand-by and then used a 5:30 fp. I just had the impression they had shut it down for the day.

Ok, that makes sense. Thanks :)

The SRL entrance is over by the gift shop that you exit through. There is a sign that will say whether it's open or closed. They seem to close it a few hours before the park closes and also when the crowds are light.

This has always been our experience

I have read that the single rider lines have had to be shut down during busy times because of BTGs bogging them down and giving CMs a hard time about being separated.

It wouldn't surprise me if single-rider lines get closed permanently because of abuse - I legitimately ride it alone because hubby can't handle it, and I don't want to stand in line for 30 minutes alone, and we use our FP for safari so we can ride together. It irritated me two weeks ago when we were there, and me along with three others who were actual single riders were behind about 11 students and a teacher (I know because they all had the same shirts on showing it was their class trip). And the main line wasn't that long, so I didn't understand why she wouldn't just take them all at once so they could ride together, instead of being separated for all of their turns. There was also another group of four people who were together, because they were planning on where they should eat lunch and laughing and talking together. Anyhow, I hope people abusing it doesn't spoil it for those of us who really need to use it. :rolleyes2 Off my soap box now :goodvibes

My family of four always use the single rider line. We expect to ride separately. I'm not sure how that's abuse. There are empty seats to be filled and we are happy to fill them.

The line does shut down when the regular line isn't that long AND when there are too many people in the single rider line. That happened to us in December for the first time ever.

I have never used a single rider line, so I have no vested interest, but those examples are not abusing the single rider line. As long as they are all willing to ride alone, it is totally fine. It's only people that want to argue with the CM about keeping their groups together in the single rider line that cause problems (like Fortforever mentioned). Single rider doesn't mean you have to be alone, just that you are willing to ride alone.

That's not abuse, that's using the single rider line as intended.

Exactly how is that abuse?! :confused3 If everyone is willing to ride alone, what's the big problem?!

whoa whoa whoa how is that abuse? the single rider line is for people who are willing to ride alone, it doesnt matter if you are with six people as long as you are willing to ride alone... its to fill those extra seats (from groups of 3 5 ect.) no one would sit in otherwise not just for people who are alone.

Highly doubt that there are many many people that actually take solo trips and use these all the time ( plus one person in a family/group that is the only one who wants to ride) so no I wouldn't think so

as far as someone mentioning abuse, agree with pp how the heck is that abuse ? that's what single rider lines are for...and this is how things eventually get out of hand around here

I agree with the PP who says that a family of 4 getting into the single rider line are not abusing the system,I'm a huge fan of the single rider lines and use them all the time.I also know that 90% of those getting into the singles line are not really single riders and that's fine with me.Most people understand the concept of the singles line so that's not the problem, someone used the example of the singles line getting bogged down by the BTG's which I can understand as they in general don't follow rules as well as the general Disney visitor. If it was up to me almost every ride would have a singles option.I've probably ridden rides like Test Track,Everest,Hulk,Spider Man,Revenge of the Mummy and Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey over at Universal hundreds of times with waits of 5 minutes or less while the regular line is at 45-90 minutes.I also know there are days the waits in singles are worse than other days,Spring Break for example you have a lot of young people who's main objective is getting on the ride quickly and those days you notice singles having bigger waits.Overall the singles line gives you another option and usually works great,a perfect example is TSMM,I never get to ride that ride because I'm almost never at DHS in the morning so I can never get a FP for it, so it's either wait 60-90 minutes or not ride,a lot of times I don't have the time so it's a no go.I hear TSMM in California Adventure has a singles line so I always fell shortchanged, that FP+ might help out the situation for that ride. The singles line is there to keep seats from going unused,if a group of ten is OK with splitting up then they're fine using the singles line.
