No more Mickey Bars

Take them from the parks and bring them back on the ships!

When my 7 and 11 year-olds saw the picture of the ice cream bars, they said, "Aww, man...we wanted the ice cream sandwiches!" So, according to Murphy's Law, we will have only the ice cream bars on our June cruise!!

DS and I will be very upset if they don't have them for our next cruise. We LOVE Mickey bars. If the supplier can't keep up with the command, maybe it's time to find another supplier! If it's DCL, I'm sure they will get the word that no Mickey bars is NOT acceptable.

No way! Having a Mickey bar at sea is Disney at it's best. Such good feelings. I sail in less than 2 weeks and will be hoping they are back!

I think this is so funny! I can't get anyone to answer when I'm trying to set up a Fish Extender list for our June 11th cruise...I guess it's not important enough. But if you post about Mickey Ice Cream Bars, you'll get about 15 posts in an hour!! I guess you guys think like I do - it's all about the food!!

Well, I just emailed DCL. When I hear back, I'll post their reply here.

This is the third food item that we've been telling DS's DGF about on the cruise, that they may no longer have!

(We had told her how great the pizza is at Palo dinner, and the stollen bread at brunch; neither are available any longer, but at least we'll be able to get the pizza at brunch, unless they change that too!)

We were on a back to back 2/19-2/26-they ran out of the Mickey bars at the beginning of the second cruise. The head of the dining department came to our table on the last night to apologize about the lack of Mickey bars since it had become a running joke with our server! They are not gone forever-so, no worries there... However, there is a shortage from their supplier which has happened before. The new ice cream sandwich is actually more expensive for DCL-so, they REALLY are trying to bring back the Mickey bar

I did read that post, and I hope it's the right answer!

But with people getting conflicting info, I figured it can't hurt to email DCL. Took me 30 seconds.

There is something about having a Mickey ice cream on a ship at sea that brings out the little kid in DH and me!

That said...

A co-worker and I have a saying, "Sounds like a First-World problem" that we use when complaining to each other about things like, not having the right cable to hook up the laptop to the TV in order to stream a movie.

Being upset about having ice cream cookie sandwiches instead of Mickey ice cream bars while on a Disney cruise just might qualify as a First World Problem, in the big scope of the universe.

And I just told DH this AM that while in the park we should refrain from our nightly Mickey bar and then just indulge on the ship - to which his reply was
"Are you crazy - I am getting one everyday". I guess now we will HAVE to get one everyday at the parks - just in case. LOL!

But in all honesty. My trip is ruined without them.
