okay, 2 years in a row of going in July has done us in. This year we even stayed twice as long as last year, in an effort to 'slow down', have days off...
The heat was just to much.

Since I am a teacher (and also have school aged kids) , I am looking for alternative times to go. Crowds don't scare us, because July crowds are pretty crazy - but what are they compared to Feb or April vacation?

I'm thinking Feb. vacation sounds good, any thoughts ?

Do you have the same April vacation week as Mass or the week after? 2008 should be a great year to go because Easter is as early as it can be March 23 & Patriot's Day will be really late. There will be almost 4 weeks between Easter & spring break. We found as long as spring break was at least 2 week or more after Easter it was a good time to go. February vacation week is too iffy for me, the chances of not being able to get out of NE due to a winter storm was not something I was willing to risk. Plus anyone who get a Feb vacation will have the same week.

I know, the flight down is the risky part in Feb. I know someone who went down last Feb. break and fared okay. But - you watch the snow will hit when it's my turn :rolleyes1
NH's breaks are off from mass - think the week after.

I am not familiar with the school breaks (our schools don't have a break in February), but I've been to WDW several times in February before my kids were in school. My parents are "snowbirds" and my mom always says "there's no place like Florida in February!" -- blue sky, warm temps, but not too warm.

We were there in February 2003 and 2005 and it was fabulous. I think the longest we waited for anything was about 20 minutes. The parks aren't open quite as long as "peak" times, but since we needed to get the kids into bed anyway, it wasn't a problem for us.

We were in FL the last week of February and it was beautiful and then the first week of March we were at Disney - only 1 kinda cool day the whole time we were there. Lines were short. I think the longest we stood in line was like 1/2 hour
