No more guest sitting in the last row on Pirates

I don't understand what the new boat design has to do with the boats bumping together. The boats have always bumped together as long as I have been riding POTC. In my experience its usually just a little bump, sometimes its more forceful, but nothing that would give anybody whiplash IMO.

As far as the splashing and getting wet, there's always been a bit of a splash on the drop. It happens. It's a boat ride. I will say that during our last trip, DS and I rode in the front row and we were soaked when we got off ! :)
We were drenched, but our fingers will still intact. ;)

Most think the new boat design takes on far more water than ever before. My friend and her daughers were wearing skirts on the ride and had to take them off and wring them out after the ride. I think that's what you expect on Splash Mountain. But most don't expect that amount of water on Pirates. At least they didn't used to.

We rode POTC on Saturday. I noticed boats did not have people in the back row of the boats. We did get a bit wet to. ;) we love it.

I'll have to see it to believe it. I highly doubt they just aren't loading the back rows anymore because of a couple people not using their brain, or not supervising their children. I'll be there in about a week and a half so I'll have to see.

But if they really aren't loading the back rows, then might as well not load the front rows either. I could easily lean forward and put my hand in front of the boat. So then why not just make glass walls around the whole boat lol. For the millions of people that visit Disney and the handful that injury themselves by being careless, I don't see it creating such an issue to where they don't load a row.

Someone could easily jump in the water..So for taking precautions, why even have the ride open anymore lol. Could also jump out of the truck on the Safari at AK. Might as well put in further precautions.

Why not just show a movie of the ride? That would be way safer...
Wait...I think I'm on to something: a movie based on a ride! :rotfl2:

Does it matter what row folks sit in? I def don't remember getting that wet before.

Except for the fact that the UK gentleman was quoted right after the incident, but multiple witnesses including EMS, as saying that he was stupid and put his hand in the water. I think his own words say enough about exactly what happened.

Disney still needs to find out what happened and what they need to do to prevent it from happening again, especially since there has been another injury. They can't just blow it off and say you were stupid. They need to fix it. Put some kind of guard over where their fingers touched. I work in insurance and it will be held against them if the same thing happened multiple times and they didn't do anything to prevent it, especially in a place where children are present.
