No More Fantasyland Characters During Evening EMH

If anyone here has ever stumbled upon the characters that were over in Fantasyland during Evening EMH at the Magic Kingdom, be aware that this was suspended as of July 3rd. This also applies to characters at the Town Square Theatre during Evening EMH's. Just thought I'd spread the word...

Do you know why? Was this just for the high crowd nights around the 4th?

No, these characters hung out in Fantasyland for EMH for at the very least a year. My suspicion is that it has been a regular occurrence for 3-4 years but I don't know for sure. The characters even rode rides with Guests such as Dumbo and the Carrousel but now they are no longer appearing during EMH at all. Disney is saying that it is simply not popular enough to justify putting the effort into having these characters roaming around. They never had much of a line, that's all

Just to be clear. Are they now gone for good from being in FL during EMH?

I have seen them there and ridden the rides with them so I'm well aware of them being there. Though I would say there was a wait to visit with them and it took a lot of luck to ride on Dumbo with one or get the horse on the Carousel next to one.

Stink!! That's when we waited to have our pics with the characters.

I also thought it was cool to see the characters ride Dumbo at the end of the night. I liked pointing it out to DS.

Phooy! Maybe they can cut out the fireworks all together next.

This appears to be another cost cutting measure, just as they are discontinuing Monorail service durning EMH. Maybe they should re-name it Ex Magic hours!

Agreed. It's still extra magic hours minus now some of the extras and the magic.
