No More Early Ticket Pickup?

Awww.... cheer up. It does say it's all subject to change! :lmao:

Besides, even if they said you could, this would be worthless because it would still have the same disclaimer about it being subject to change.

They might as well have said they could answer but decline to do so because it wouldn't be worth the paper it was printed on.

I'm not laughing at you. I'm in the same boat......... and I also find this to be a sad way to conduct business.

I appreciate your sense of humor :) And you're right, they could easily change their minds at any time. I am hoping if I make enough of a fuss, they will let me anyways. We'll see....

It just seems to me that you should be able to pick up your tickets when you please or get free dining during the your stay if it's offered regardless of when you check in.

I'd like to know something.

Has there been ANY report of a guest showing up to pick his/her ticket early being denied that ticket ? Has it actually ever happened or are we just freaking out about nothing ??? I'm kind of leaning towards option #2.

Wouldn't trust the email reply anyway. We've done plenty of split stays and for some have checked in our new resort way before 8AM. Check out the "One night premium plan" thread... people check in at 6AM with no trouble whatsoever.

I plan on calling three days before my arrival and request to speak with someone at MK in guest relations. I am gioing to ask for step by step instructions what I need to do to pick up my tickets, and ask for the name of a specific CM I can speak to on arrival. I will also be asking the CM I speak with their name...and a name of a supervisor. We are arriving one day early and plan on picking up early to go to MK. Hopefully I will be fairly safe with my plan! Otherwise, I will have a hissy fit!

No. Nor would I expect there to be. Yet. I think they are laying the groundwork to start doing this at some point....... probably around the first week of October when people on the latest FD promo start checking in.

Will do! I am counting on being able to pick up early. If not, we will switch around our plans and stay at the beach one day since we are driving down. I am hopeful that it won't be a problem, since there are no reports of quests not being able to pick up early.

I had e-mailed guest relations about the same issue, arriving on Oct. 21 and package starting Oct. 23. Their response was that it could not be done.

I switched my entire reservation to AAA which saved more money and ended up effectively cancelling the old reservation when it was switched to a new confirmation. Disney called within 2 days offering FD for the entire stay. I said no thankyou because I save more with AAA.

It shouldn't come to that. If they can offer FD for the entire stay, don't black those days out in the first place.

LOL! Booking a Disney trip is seeming more and more like buying a used car..... which I find very distasteful.

Ai yi yi, yet another potential issue to keep track of. I think it's just so I don't get bored waiting for our trip to come. :upsidedow Guess this means I'll be booking a second Candlelight Processional reservation just in case it's not looking possible come Nov/Dec to pick up tickets early.

We'll live without the days in the parks the first two days if we need to, but Candlelight worked so much better in there than at the end of our trip. And all because I wanted to give my animal-loving DD an opportunity to experience Animal Kingdom Lodge when it's normally out of our budget. Yes, I do start our main reservation on day one of our segment free dining, but the main reason for opting for the split on this was because Thanksgiving weekend rates at All-Stars is high enough that I could do DVC through a friend for the same amount, giving Disney an extra two days of our vacation money as well as DD an extra surprise. Maybe I'd better call and adjust our days back to 8 just in case as well.

I'd appreciate anyone who's willing to come back and post their experiences as we approach the fall and holiday seasons. Thanks!!!

I tried to ask this question on the Mom's Panel on Disney's site. This is what I got...

I am getting conflicting info on picking up tickets early. I have a room only reservation for Dec. 10 and 5N/6D package with FD starting Dec 11. I would like to get tix on Dec 10 and do Epcot that night & be ready for an 8:30a.m. ADR for Dec11. Is it

Answer Hi Alisa!

I hope that I can clear things up for ya! Walt Disney World has made a few changes recently and not even all Cast Members are aware of the new rules. If you are within two days of your Disney package check in date, you MAY pick up your tickets early. If you cannot pick up your tickets at your resort, simply visit a Guest Relations window at any of the four major theme parks. They will need to call your resort and confirm that you do indeed have a package and that it has been paid for in full. You will then be issued your tickets!

Just be aware that your dining plan will not begin until the next day and that your tickets will most likely not be linked to your Key to the World room key. Have an awesome first night at Epcot!!!

Much pixie dust,

Jackie S.

I don't know if the Moms would be any more knowledgeable than the CMs but thought I would give it a shot.

Well that is promising news!!! Thanks for sharing. I had also thought of asking them, too. :)

LOL! Yet ANOTHER take on this. But since it's my favorite one so far, I'm going with it! Still, I'll be anxious to hear about everyone's personal experiences with this as December gets closer.

I spent the better part of the day worrying about this and then I did what I do best: picked up the phone and spoke to three different people.

First I spoke to Bonita in ticketing. Not. helpful. at. all. 'Nuff said. She was so rude and said "it can't be done" then asked if that was all I wanted. No "have a great day", nothing. Whatever.

Then I called Guest Relations. Yet again. lol I spoke to Cheryl (now for the 3rd time :lmao:) and told her I was still getting conflicted info. She assured me I could pick up my tickets early.

Still unsure, I called back to ticketing. Spoke to Rachel and she was very patient. I'll explain why: she said I couldn't do it. And I kept insisting I could and then I read her, word for word, what Cheshire Figment (the man!) posted. She said, "could you hold on for a moment why I contact Guest Services". She came back on the line and started aplogizing to me. I asked her what for. She said, "you were right, you are able to pick up your tickets early for the package. It's just the dining you won't have access to". I told her I didn't care about the dining, I was just concerned about getting into the parks. :) She thanked me for giving her new information today. too cool!

So, that's my take on it. I am going to a Guest Relations window on October 20th armed with all my names and dates (and a print out of Cheshire Figment's instructions) and getting my tickets.

Have a great night everyone!

Great to hear. We'll be arriving on Oct 22 and we were hoping to pick up tickets early and go to one of the parks. This should allow us to have some more "rest-time" later in the week when we need some down-time ;)

You'd be much better off with an email that you could pull up. Anyone could attribute those statements to a CM. Are you going to present the ones that say no too? You are still getting mixed answers. You get a rude CM at the booth who has had a bad day and doesn't have the answer you like and you could be in for a lot of frustration.

So you say, "Thank you for your time," and move on to the CM in the next booth. ;)

You don't think they can talk to one another? I've worked in retail...she might need to go to a different area. Don't underestimate the nastiness of some workers when you don't listen to them.
