The last time I went to Disneyland Resort was back in 2008. I purchased the 8 Day Park Hopper passes from Get Away Today and ended up having a blast! We had enough time to do everything at a relaxed pace with little to no worry. From that moment on, I decided that every trip to DLR from here on out would be 8 Days. :goodvibes

Recently, I checked both the Disney web site, and Get Away Today. The 8 Day tickets are gone. :headache: They no longer offer them. Now they've got it to where the most you can buy are 6 Day tix. So, what gives? Why did they get rid of the wonderful 8 Day tickets? It's makes even less sense now since they're massively expanding DCA. Once that place is finished, it's going to be a mad house and take even longer to do everything. :hourglass

Any chance they'll bring back the 8 Day tickets? :groom:

Yes, unfortunately as you discovered, 6 days is the longest park-hopper available for U.S. residents. Longer hoppers (at least 7 days) are still available in Canada, Australia, etc.

Is it possible, as an American, to buy the 7 Day Canadian tickets and use them?

If you're going for more than 6 days it's usually to your benefit to purchase annual passes instead, you may want to look into the Deluxe AP depending on when you are going. :)

Consider getting the Annual Pass. The Deluxe is $329...where as the 6day hopper is regularly $256, online it's $196 (thru April 14; $216 after that). An extra 2day hopper is $161...so for your 8 days you'll save money with an AP on THIS trip, plus if you do another trip in the next year then admission is "free". DO check the dates you're going as the Deluxe has blackout dates, mostly holidays and Saturdays in the summer (a good day to do DTD).

PLUS, remember that the AP does get you some discounts...10% off food at a lot of places; special rates at the hotels (including some of the good neighbors give AP discounts). I think the shopping discount is still going on ..though it's not promoted because it's a "limited time" thing that has been going on for a long long limited time, lol. I believe it was 10%.

It has been at least two years now since the 7 day plus tickets went away. I would just get an AP if you are planning longer.

My completely unofficial (and totally just my opinion) guess would be that they may bring back longer tickets once they get fingerprint scanners like they have at WDW. My understanding is that some people would buy longer tickets and resell their unused days to someone else. Without fingerprint scanners, Dsney didn't have a good way to prevent resells; shorter tickets reduce those occurrences (even without the scanners).

I would just buy an AP. You get the 10% food and merch discount PLUS a cool card :)

I 2nd that idea!! plus she is right, you get a cool card! LOL, it makes it worth it if your going for 8 days..think about all that parking money you will be saving if you add the parking on to it! Or if you don't you at least will be saving money in other area's too like food and stuff like ikristin mentioned!

Parking for 8 days:$15.00X8= $120!!!!!

AP INFO ..

Does anyone know if you can still purchase an annual pass in the Park and apply the cost of what you paid for your hoppers toward the purchase?

Yup :thumbsup2 You must upgrade before the end of your last day and you will get the amount that you paid for your ticket applied to the price of an AP.

So we are doing our first long trip (5 days) to DL. While I have gone over 20 times in my life, our longest trip is probably been 3 days. We bought into DVC this year after a trip to the world and are "going home" to VGC for the first time for a five day trip. I was debating the Deluxe AP over a five day hopper and being an accountant I had to do up a big old spreadsheet to calc the different costs. We will probably go with the hopper since I am not sure if we are going back for our second trip in time to use the Deluxe AP twice and because our last planned day is Sat. But I think you should definitely go with the Deluxe AP. You do have the blackout dates to work around like Sat, but it is a better deal. I would pass on the premium AP though, the cost is just too high.
