No melted butter with lobster

I did a 3-night cruise on the Dream last year and we didn't get lobster. The couple at my table were surprised it wasn't offered but I think it has to do with the length of the cruise. I'm doing a 4-night next week so I'll let everyone know if it's served but I think it's guaranteed on the 7+ night cruises. I'm not sure about the 5-night. I did a Carnival 5-night and we were served lobster.

We had baked lobster tail on the 5 night NYC to PR repositioning cruise. They came around with melted butter..

My husband and I both asked for and received melted butter for our lobster!

We only sail on 7+nights cruises, but we always get lobster tails at some point during the week. I think they are offered in the "french" restaurants : Triton, Lumiere...

It's on the Captains Gala menu, so whatever MDR you are in that night. Usually night 6 of a 7.

Our friend asked for melted butter on our December cruise. I can't remember if he asked when he ordered or when it came but the server just said "of course" as though it was a given that he'd want it and brought him a small dish/bowl of it. So I don't know whether you have to specifically ask for it but the server acted like it was such a routine item that I imagine that it's ready to be provided even if they don't bring it out as a standard.

I don't eat lobster, but my husband does (loves it as a matter of fact). He thinks the lobster on the ship is not good. He thinks it's because it's baked not steamed.
While that may be an issue, I think its more that the lobster I'm accustomed to is the cold-water north atlantic lobster but you usually get caribbean lobster on the ship. Huge difference in flavor.

As long as they remove the lobster from the tail, I am happy! Once, I did it myself and the meat went flying. The last lobster I had was RCCL on the Disboard cruise, and it was delicious! Yes, our server shelled it for me, and she did a great job!

On the Wonder this week they shelled the lobster tail and came around with melted butter without me asking. It was routine.
