And speaking of Disney princesses, I must admit that I was a little surprised when Paula (smile4stamps) sent us an update from the first meal of their trip and it was from...






Paula said, "After attempting to sleep last night we finally got going, but first I had a DISmeet with Jamie (DisneyDreamerMN, another live reporter) at the Pop bus stop!"






"After the DISmeet we headed to Epcot for our first meal of the trip. Hunter had made a request to eat in Norway not having a clue it was a character meal!"


"Some Norway pictures while we waited to be called...














"We were seated and then took a look at the menu..."







"But first our selections from the cold buffet...




"This is my plate with the seafood...



...and Hunter's sans seafood."




"The buffet selections were really good! I'm glad I only got a little bit of each so I had some room for my entree and the F & W Classic tonight."




For our entrees, Hunter selected the meatballs...

"The warm potato salad was phenomenal!!!"


"We of course had some Princess photos and since it was Hunter's idea we go I made him get in the photos!"





















"Then there is dessert!"




"The chocolate one was the best The apple bread thing was my least favorite."


"We also had a drink during our meal. Hunter had the truffle martini and I had a strawberry frozen drink."




"It was good but the ice was too big yet and made it hard to drink."



"Overall the meal was actually excellent and I was very happy with going there!"​

This first one was a snack update from Magic Kingdom.


She said, "After breakfast at Kona on Wednesday, we took the monorail to the MK and walked to Frontierland to use our Fastpass for Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. The Fastpass line was pretty huge."








"After our fun ride we grabbed a churro from one of the carts."




"It was warm and a little crunchy with a good amount of cinnamon and sugar."

'OHANA


She said, "Wednesday night Kyle and I went to dinner with his family at 'Ohana. 'Ohana is one of our favorite restaurants and we were hoping they would feel the same. Unfortunately we had two picky eaters on our hands. Kyle's cousin stuck to the noodles and veggies and my MIL didn't like having to peel the shrimp. Oh well, glad they gave it a shot."

Contempo Cafe



Jamie said, "After dinner at 'Ohana we ended up at the Contemporary and picked up two cupcakes to go from the Contempo Cafe. One was the special nameless cupcake which came with a ghost ring that I had to remove in order to close the container. The frosting was light and rich. The cupcake was vanilla with confetti pieces and a vanilla frosting center. The second cupcake was a rootbeer cupcake. I mostly tasted it in the frosting but it was very good."

She said, "After HS we headed over to Epcot to sample some of the F&W offerings. I'll rate each item on a scale from 1-5, 5 being the highest."



"First we had the scallop and the pork belly from...











"The scallop: 5/5 and the pork belly: 3/5. The scallop was delicious and perfectly cooked. The pork belly was a little over cooked and the black beans just weren't to our tastes."




"Next we hit...




...and had the shrimp."



"We gave it a 4/5. The shrimp were really good but the rapini tasted off to us."





"Then we visited...





"We had both the tacos."



"We gave the rib-eye 4/5...





... and the shrimp 5/5."

"We had the potstickers and the black pepper shrimp."








"The portion for the shrimp was huge but the noodles were a little bland - 3/5, the potstickers were good but nothing special - 3/5."

"It was a hit with everyone! Lots of great flavor with this. I thought the bread pocket it was served in was little unnecessary. I would have just preferred it on its own."

"I had the Harissa Chicken Roll...




"The inside...




"Another hit! I loved the cilantro flavor in it."



"Up next was...

"This lived up to the hype! I don't care for beer and I loved this. So much so that I went back for a second one later in the night."





"I also noticed in line are potted herbs, plants, etc. pertaining to what is at each particular booth. Here was a grapefruit one at the Brewers Collection booth."

"Great details at the booth...




"Rob and I both got the Tacos de Ribeye...




"We both loved this! I love that it came with a little slice of lime too. The fresh lime juice really added to the flavor."



"Then we made a return to...





...for one of our favorites, Garlic Shrimp."




"It's hard to resist the amazing smell coming from this booth every time you pass it."



"Next I made my first stop at...




"Some of the plants at the booth...




"I tried the crispy pork belly.





"Delicious! I loved the black beans that accompanied the pork belly and I'm always a sucker for anything with cilantro."

"It's no a good sign when the guy working the booth tells you that after 2 of these they have to wheel you out of Epcot. I tried a few sips of this too. It's interesting. And STRONG!"

"This was great! The beef was so tender that I could cut it with my fork. The sauce was really creamy and went well with the mashed potatoes."

"I didn't really get a review out of him but judging by how quickly he ate it I think he liked it."

"Rob and our friend stayed for Night Ranger at Eat to the Beat, but I was running on fumes so I left and on my way out I stopped at..."

"I had a bite of this when Rob got it the other day but I wanted to have my own this time. It's really good! The ketchup has a nice little kick to it!"

Kathy said, " This morning's breakfast was the breakfast of Champions! Carrot Cake cookies from The Writers Shop. We forgot to take sign pics because we picked these babies up before dinner. This was our first time trying the carrot cake cookies. They were delicious!"







"After fueling up, we headed to MK and hit up a few rides, then decided it was to head to Adventureland to get a must do snack from..."









"Dole Whip Floats of course!"





"And of course I wore my "I run for Dole Whips" shirt so had to take a picture with my dole whip. I got A LOT of comments on my shirt!"

She said, "So today we did what we have done the last 2 days, and hopped over to Epcot for lunch. I swear lunch during the week is the way to do F&W, there were little to no lines at just about every booth for the past 3 days. The only booths with a little longer lines are the ones near the front."

"We took the bus back to our resort so we had easy access to the International Gateway. We decided to start at...









"Here we got the Potato and Leek Waffle with Braised Beef."



"This was delicious! We shared one between the 4 of us but I wish I had had more! The beef was tender and flavorful, loved that they put butter on top so that it melted."




"Then we popped over to...







"Mary got a Spicy Tuna Hand Roll." (photo missing)


"She said she thought it was spicy but you could still taste all the elements. My dad and I tried this and thought it was really good as well."




"Next stop for me was the Block and Hans little shack for an Angry Orchard Cider."







"This was good as always!"



"While I was buying my cider, Mary and my dad headed over to...








"They got a lobster roll and a cherry wheat beer."








"They thought the lobster roll was good. The lemoney mayo wasn't too thick and complemented the roll well. The roll itself was nice and crusty. We had the cherry wheat the first day and it was a favorite."



"We also took a picture of the tabasco condiments station."




"We wished there was a better dish to use the tabasco for, it was kind of wasted on the dishes at Hops and Barley."



"After Hops and Barley we hopped over to...








"Here we chose the Ravioli di Formaggio all'Emiliana, the Salsiccia e "Papacelli" Napoletani, and Chianti Placcido."












"The ravioli was very good, the cheese was creamy and complemented the dish well. The sausage popped when you bit into it. It had a nice spice to it. The sausage and peppers worked well together but the ciabata didn't really do much for the dish. The chianti was good."


"The pictures are taking a long time to load onto the emails, and the Cardinals are now going to the World Series! Which means its time for me to shower and get to bed, lots more F&W booths to follow tomorrow!"
