Side of nail polish! Oh Barb. :lmao: Kind of fun to see a Steak n Shake review in this thread! Despite living here for four years and passing no less than 3 on my way to work, I've never tried SnS, and when I tell people here that, they react with shock and horror. I think it's like a live update veteran saying they've never had a dole whip! :laughing:

I live in Minnesota where there are no Steak and Shakes and even i I love to stop there when we are near one! Shame on you for never enjoying it! :-) :laughing:
 
Good morning everyone! :) So what could be better than Friday's 28 live updates from Disney World? :confused3 How about 37?!?! Yes folks, our 11 live reporters outdid themselves yesterday, sending in a record-breaking 37 updates! OUTSTANDING!!! :thumbsup2


Ok, so let's get started with #1, our First Update of the Day yesterday was sent to us by Kayla (cheshirecatattack) from her dinner on Friday at Epcot's...

She said, "Ok...So...Let's start with when we left, Akershus. When we had arrived I pointed out to Hunter that it looked like Singapore's booth was a different spot this year. He thought that was pretty convenient for stopping for his favorite F & W drink after lunch, from...

She said, "This was a fantastic experience. The sommelier was excellent. She was high-energy and knew a lot about the wines she was serving. These are my favorite wines of the trip, even though I am NOT a white wine person in general."

And speaking of the Swan & Dolphin Classic, we had one more live reporter in attendance on Friday.


Kris (Krissalee) said, "On Friday night we attended the Swan and Dolphin Food & Wine Classic. This is the 4th year for the event, but our first time attending. It is a 3.5 hour cocktail type party on the causeway between the. two resorts, with the hotel restaurants all participating. We were able to hit up all the food booths and quite a few of the beverage stations."




"Our first stop was the Fountain restaurant's Falafel."




"We both really liked this, and we are falafel lovers."




"Our next was the Fresh foods booth."



"They were serving a Thai Chicken Salad. I liked this a lot but DH's serving was all chicken fat and gristle. Not very appetizing and he opted not to try a better portion."




"Next up was Garden Grove's Open Faced Tomato and Handcrafted Mozzarella Sandwich."




"This was a refreshing bite with a lot of fresh flavors."




"bluezoo's Short Rib Oscar was next."




"This was good, and I particularly liked the crabmeat on top. There was a long line for this dish."




"Picabu was serving tacos."




"They had beef, pork or veggie tacos available with add you own topping stations. This was a busy booth! I tried both the pork and beef, and they were well seasoned and served in a really tasty corn tortilla."




"Il Mulino was serving a handmade pasta with veal cheek ragu."




"This was one of my favorite plates of the event. The pasta was fresh and the ragu was delicious. If I had room for any return bites, it would have been this one."




"Shula's had a prime rib with mashed potatoes and horseradish cream."



"Tender, well cooked, and the horseradish cream was to die for!"




"Cabana Bar and Beach Club was serving a Chicken Yakitori."





"It was tasty and did have a little heat. Plus, who can resist the little takeout containers for serving?"



"Todd English was present at his booth, greeting the party goers. His booth had the longest line throughout the night. He was serving 3 dishes."




"On the left is a tuna tartare with nitro aioli, in the middle is an oyster shooter with huckleberry champagne vinegar, and on the right is a rock shrimp taco. The tuna and and taco were amazing. The shooter was the weak link. I love oysters, particularly raw, but the combo of the champagne and the huckleberry was not to my liking at all."





"Texas style beef brisket was next, served from Cib's Smokehouse."



'"Cib's isn't a regular restaurant, but is the inspiration of one of the restaurant chef's, nicknamed Cib's. This was good, and they had all styled of BBQ sauce available to add the the brisket."



"We ended our eating frenzy at Kimonos."



"The Dragon Rolls were fresh and delicious, so much so that I am on a mission to eat at Kimonos later this week!"



"The causeway looked beautiful all lit up. The stage with entertainment is at the far end, just in front of the Dolphin."






"Finally, no party is complete without a funky photo booth! Here we are at the end of a great night!"

Next in yesterday was Patty's (emmebear) snack update from Magic Kingdom.


She said, "Emme took a nap so I decided to snack a bit before dinner."










"I chose the sweet cream cheese pretzel...




"The pretzel was soft and warm. I love the sweet cream cheese in the center. It's not overly sweet, which is a total bonus."




"Since I felt like I needed more carbs, I somehow ended up here..."










"And I ordered this...



Chili cheese fries, before a trip to the condiment bar...


"And then after...




"I have no idea why I like nuclear orange nacho cheese sauce while at Disney but I'm no gonna lie, these chili cheese fries were delicious. I was surprised as to how tasty they were."


"This was my first time at Pecos Bill's. I was outside but then found a nice table inside with air conditioning. The added bonus was that I could bring my stroller inside and Emme slept so soundly."




"Emme finally woke up and had her go to snack from Storybook Treats."

She said, "Rob came back late with an unexpected treat for me from Earl of Sandwich. As you can tell, he got me the Caprese Sandwich."

"This looked great but I was full and tired and due to long transit time from DTD, it was ice cold. I only had one bite. I wish I could have eaten the whole thing."

Cheesy, creamy, with lots of bacon. In other words! Delicious!



I am seriously regretting not booking the Parisian breakfast! Everything looks fantastic.

You are still here another Saturday aren't you?!? It was really good! The only issue we had was it is very crowded and it was a but warm in there. But the food was great!
 
:banana: Just one more week and I will be in WDW!! So as I count down the final days to Sunday, I'm going to post a heads up to where my family and I will be eating in that week!

So we hop on the train on the 27th and my family and I will be in Orlando on the 28th. My family includes Mom, Dad, an aunt, me, one of my sisters, and my brother. I have a second sister but she is staying home due to her job. Here are the plans!

28th- Downtown Disney for the day. Most likely will be eating at Earl of Sandwiches.
29th- Animal Kingdom for the day then Kona Cafe for dinner and MNSSHP after that!
30th- breakfast at the Castle in Magic Kingdom
31st- Biergarten for dinner at Epcot
Nov.1st- Sci-Fi for lunch at MGM Studios!
Nov.2nd- We come home.. :sad1:

There will be of course plenty of stops in between :)

Patty said, "I got a 5:40 ADR to BOG last minute. It was perfect timing before MNSSHP and it was an added bonus that I could have a few adult beverages before being unleashed to the party."

"The Hoegaarden was just what I needed. Nice and cold and so very tasty."

"Emme ate all three pieces. And that's pretty much all she ate for dinner."

"Thyme scented pork chop. I asked for it to be cooked medium. The pork chop was cooked how I wanted and was nicely seasoned. My entree was quite good. I loved the baked mac & cheese but the green beans were definitely frozen and not fresh."


"Emme chose...



"Kids pasta with mashed potatoes. She had one bite of both things and that's it."


"Terrible pics (most of these pics are awful because the flash to my phone is obnoxious so apologies)."


"We didn't get dessert but here are two of the Halloween cupcakes."








"Our server did bring this over to me at the end, as I was celebrating."

"Before leaving, we said hello to a friend..."








"Overall, this visit to BOG was an 8/10. My only gripe was the size of the table. It was such a small table. I know they wanted to maximize the space but the table was very cramped and uncomfortable. But our server Kristen was absolutely amazing. I've had such terrible service on my prior 2 visits for dinner that Kristen made up for it. My entree was tasty and this was the perfect start to our night."

She said, "After a long red-eye flight and no sleep, I hit up breakfast at...






"I know how Disney breakfasts are, so I stuck to something they can never really mess up: a Mickey waffle. But the bacon was still horrible!"

Then for lunch Melissa headed to Downtown Disney's...




"I read so many good things about it, that I had to make a reservation here. After my 6am breakfast, lunch was at 11am. :laughing: I am going on nearly 30 hours of no sleep and no real meal besides snacking, so this meal was perfect."



"This is such a beautiful restaurant. I kept staring at the ceiling since I was nearly in the center of the room."





"First up, some menu pics (the dessert menu is separate and I forgot to get a pic)."









"I was started off with the bread service."



"A-MAZING! I see people mentioned they sell the dipping sauce in the little shop, but it wasn't there. I was so sad!" :sad2:



"My main course was Kevin's Heavenly Ham."




"This was so good! I love ham and this was thick, REAL ham, over a mashed potato (with more yummy ham mixed in) and cabbage. There were two different sauces that were great mixed with everything in the dish. And no photo, but Kevin himself was there. He asked me how I liked the meal and I complimented it without realizing who I was talking to!"




"For dessert, I chose the Trifle Sinful."




"Good, but I probably wouldn't get it again. The raspberry cake was small and on the bottom of a good couple inches of custard and cream. Good, light dessert, since I was too full for the bread pudding, but I'd rather try something else next time."




"And in the gift shop on the way out, I found the cutest salt and pepper shakers."



"I'm kicking myself for not buying them since they were the last ones. I may go back later this week to get them."




"On my way out of DTD, I stopped at...





"There was a snack I was dying to try."






"So, I picked up a form and made it come to life!"

"And I was just too excited, so I took a bite before the picture...





"Aaaaaaand it's like a cavity on a stick! SO sweet, but SO good. I'm stick working on over half of it."
