No kids, no husbands & no rain! Girls weekend at BWI! - NEW 11/12 p16 -The End!

Glad your ADR was later and not earlier, that would have been horrible! Awesome Fantasmic! pics, mine always come out blurry...

sorry I got a bit behind....but enjoying it :goodvibes

I learned a lot from the BWI/BWV thread(s) - I think there are more than one. You should check them out if you haven't already done so.

no I haven't visited any BWI/BWV threads yet....but I have time...we can't make a ressie at BWV untill 7 months out since it is not our home resort (so that puts us at April of next yr)...I am booking us a stand-by at our home BLT beginning of Nov, hoping though we can transfer the ressie/points to BWV later :thumbsup2

We noticed A LOT of love bugs while we ate. Fortunately DHS was the only place that we saw too many of them. There were a few at Epcot & MK, but not nearly as bad as at DHS.

Ok when I first read this I thought you meant happy in love couples :rotfl: you did mean real bugs right

Getting ready for the Osborne Lights:

:woohoo: can't wait to see these lights!!!

I don’t remember this climbing web:
100_2155.jpg

Yes it is there...I know the twins had climbed it back in 05 (actually are only time going in there...hope we have time to do it nxt month

Up next: Back Lot Tour & What time is dinner?

thanks for the pix of the BLT...now we have never done this w/ the kids and thought it might be nice to do this time....but maybe w/ all the walking, lines it might not be very fun for Nathan though I know he'd like seeing everything. did it feel crowded like pushed up against others

I may re think it or at least we'll just play it by ear :scratchin

Oh no...toe AND ankle pain! I hope all is better in the morning and it's just a random fluke.

What a very fun evening though! And LOVE that short wait time on TSM. Seems like they do that a lot on TSM - where the actual time is shorter than the posted. Good strategy to keep people away, but doesn't work on us DISers.

I'm here and caught up-although I skipped the side chatting.

We didn't see ONE drop of rain either-our entire 9 days! :scared1:

Your room looked so nice! I would love to stay at the BWI one day. Perhaps on our next trip to WDW.

I'm glad you only waited 35 minutes for a posted 70 min. wait time for TSM! We were lucky enough to snag FP around 1030 on our DHS day.

We were early for a number of our ADR's and got seated within minutes or arriving. We were even 3.5 hours early for Ohana (intentionally) and only waited 45 minutes to get seated! :)

Feet problems in WDW can make for a drag on your vacation. I have two blisters on the bottom of my feet from my flip-flops. I had to ditch my new tennis shoes our second day b/c they gave me blisters on the back of my ankles. My feet hurt the entire trip. :sad2:

I'm here!! All caught up thanks to the links! :thumbsup2

The BWI is just beautiful...I'm so glad you decided to keep that ressie! :goodvibes

Yay for great weather! You never know at that time of year...looks like you hit the jackpot! :)

Sounds like a great trip so far...can't wait to hear more! ;)

Catching up!

The Boardwalk resort looks beautiful and the room looks incredible -- I really want those Mickey vanity lights. ;)

Loved the boat tour to DHS, great pictures. You always get the cowboy and I always get the gangster... figures!

Getting ready for the Osborne Lights.... !!

I haven't done the Backlot tour for a bit, loved seeing the POTC costume. I'd like to spend more time on the props and displays and less on the ride myself.

Fantasmic! Can't wait to see it again :)

Great first day :goodvibes

Hi Amy!:goodvibes Finally back and all caught up!:thumbsup2

Your pictures of the BWI are beautiful!! I'm glad you enjoyed your boat ride over to DHS! What a nice, relaxing way to start your trip.:)

I still can't believe we haven't rode the Great Movie Ride yet.:sad2: I definitely have to plan it in for next trip. Oh and I'm so glad you liked Beauty and the Beast!!! It's such a great show! Looks like you had some great seats!:thumbsup2

Yay for Fantasmic!!:yay::yay: I :lovestruc that show! Very cool that the wait time for TSM was less than what was posted!!!

Sounds like it was a great first night!!:goodvibes

Joining in! Great start Amy!! :goodvibes

I don't remember the climbing web either. :confused3 Now I have to go back and look at my photos...

:welcome: The last time we were at the HISTK play area was probably 2007? :confused3 I don't remember a web back then.

Glad your ADR was later and not earlier, that would have been horrible! Awesome Fantasmic! pics, mine always come out blurry...

Me too! I can't believe I never updated my notes with the new ADR time! :headache: I had my camera on the sports setting for Fantasmic... though a lot of mine still turned out blurry.

I hope you guys get to stay at BWV - you will love it! :cloud9:

:rotfl: about the love bugs!! Have you ever experienced them at WDW? They are there every fall... I remember them from 2007 too. I wish I had taken a picture of them. I think they are called love bugs because they are always in pairs - even when they fly around there are two stuck together "hugging". ;)

There was a lot of squishy, crowded feeling during the backlot tour... It wasn't so bad for the wait & for the water scene, but the prop shop was bad... it could have just been the kids behind us not paying attention, but they kept bumping into us.

That's funny that I don't remember the web... maybe I just didn't want the kids going in there so I wouldn't have to go in after them if they got stuck!

Yay for you seeing the Osborne Lights!!

We were both worried about Laura's foot troubles...

We were really excited that the TSM wait time was only 35 minutes!

Yay for no rain... I can't believe you guys went nine days without a drop! :cool1:

Our room was gorgeous... can't wait to see yours!

Sorry to hear about your foot troubles... New shoes will do that to you every time! I usually bring A LOT of shoes to switch between to avoid irritating the same spots. I think I had six pairs for our four day trip. :rolleyes1

Aren't those lights awesome!

We had a really fun first day! The costumes at the end of the backlot tour were a surprise for me - I didn't remember that part.

Yay for you seeing the Osborne Lights too!! :cool1: I'm jealous...

Hi Amy!:goodvibes Finally back and all caught up!:thumbsup2

Thanks Angie! Beauty & the Beast was fun... definitely not something my boys would want to sit through so I'm glad I saw it with Laura. I might see it again in January with the girls.

It was a great arrival day & first night! :thumbsup2

Before moving on to day two, I wanted to take a minute to recap our first day.

First of all, how did we do compared to our original plan?

• Arrival at MCO 10:20am - done :thumbsup2
• Grab a snack at MCO? – skipped it
• ME to BWI – arrive by 12:00 - done :thumbsup2
• Check in or store baggage – room was ready!!
• Head to DHS – walk or boat (arrive around 1pm) - done :thumbsup2
• Check for TSM FPs – gone! :sad2:
• Great Movie Ride - done :thumbsup2
• Backlot Tour - done :thumbsup2
• Animation? – skipped it
• Muppet Vision 3-D? – done on second try :thumbsup2
• 50s PTC at 4:35pm – done at 5:50 :rolleyes1
• 5:45 Beauty & The Beast (or 2pm) – saw at 2pm :thumbsup2
• Single Rider RnRC? - skipped
• Ride TSM before/after Fantasmic - done :thumbsup2
• Get snacks – done a couple times :thumbsup2
• Fantasmic - 8pm or 9:30pm – saw at 8pm :thumbsup2

Not too shabby... I'm totally fine about skipping RnRC... I always get my fill of the thrill rides with the boys! And I'll get to ride the biggies in January too! :thumbsup2 We also missed the animation class & I'm sure I'll have a chance to do that again! The only other thing on my wish list was One Man's Dream... but that was unavoidable due to the rehab. Hoping to see it in January!

Lows of the day: The snoring man & boy without headphones on the airplane, Laura's foot problems & the ADR mix up.

Highs of the day: Everything else!! The Boardwalk Inn is amazing!! DHS was great – Fantasmic, 35 minute wait at TSM, first time for Beauty & the Beast & the boat rides! :cloud9:

Up next: Day two!! :cool1:

Wow Amy you really accomplished a lot from your list on your first day:thumbsup2

Hopefully that trend continues throughout the rest of the trip.

Great recap. You did a lot on your first day. I would have been exhausted!

Friday morning we were up at 7:15. We got ourselves ready and were out the door around 8:45. Laura’s ankle was feeling OK & she patched up her toe with a blister band aid that I had brought along. She also wore socks & sneakers today.

Here was our plan for the day:
• Grab breakfast at Boardwalk Bakery or eat at Epcot
• Head to International Gateway by 8:40
• Head straight to the Land – get FP for Soarin’
• Breakfast at Sunshine Seasons?
• Living with the Land?
• Ride Soarin’
• Grab more FP for later
• Spaceship Earth – now or later?
• Grab KP Mission FP
• Seas/Nemo?
• Head to Imagination Pavilion
• Figment
• Captain EO
• Work our way toward Japan – 12:10 Teppan Edo
• Tour American Adventure/Japan/Morocco/France(film?)/UK/Canada (film)
• Test Track FPs?
• Break? (3-5)
• Soarin’
• Test Track?
• SSE?
• Mexico/Norway/China (acrobats at 6:15)/Germany/Italy/AA
• Via Napoli at 7pm (or CS?)
• Snacks & Find spot for Illuminations
• Illuminations

We really enjoyed the walk to Epcot!

We didn’t make rope drop but arrived shortly after. We skipped our pastries & planned to eat breakfast at Sunshine Seasons after getting Soarin’ FPs. We headed straight to Soarin’ to grab FPs.

The return time was already 10:42. We decided to ride standby (posted 15 minute wait) then get breakfast. This was my first time in the standby line so I tried to take pictures, but this is all I got:
100_2273.jpg

We were in the left section and were given the last two seats in the top row, which turned out to be toward the middle of the ride. They were great seats! Laura really enjoyed it! She grew up in California so I’d hoped she would enjoy it. She does not like fast rides or anything that drops so she was a little nervous at first when we went up, but she did fine with the smaller movements during the ride.

After Soarin’ we went for some breakfast. We split the breakfast platter & some fruit. It was a really good meal. Next we decided to ride Living with the Land with zero wait.

This was something I don’t remember from before… I forget what it’s called, but it has a plant on top and fish on the bottom.

Continued from previous post...

After Living with the Land we headed over to see Nemo. It was cute and Laura liked it.

We spent a little time checking out the aquariums after.

My kids are usually too busy to look around for more than a minute so it was nice to check it out. I have to admit that aquariums make me a bit nervous so I’m always happy to leave the Seas. I have a little fear of the walls cracking or caving in and drowning with the sharks! Luckily there was no incident and we moved on. We saw this guy somewhere along the way:
100_2310.jpg

We wanted to check out SSE but knew this wasn’t the best time of day. Not wanting to have to backtrack later, we walked over there to check out the line and found a long one. We skipped it for now & decided to do a little shopping before lunch at Mousegear. Sometime around this time we picked up a FP for a KP mission. It was also around now that Laura declared that she LOVES Epcot! I don’t know why?

Great morning in Epcot! I love Epcot, too. In fact, on my last trip I remember thinking how cool it would be to do every attraction that Epcot offers during one trip. I wonder how long that would take?

I loved the KP missions during our May trip. I hope you guys had fun with them. I thought Germany was a hoot (made even better by the 3 drinks I had before I got there) ;)
