No Hitchhiking Ghost Scene in HM - has it worked in recent weeks?

We just got back from a fantastic week at DL and rode the Haunted Mansion quite a few times over our 5 days in the parks. The iconic hitchhiking ghost scene (where you see a ghost riding a doombuggy with you in the mirror) was not working on any of our rides. I was just curious if anyone has seen the projection working in recent weeks? At least I don't have to worry about a ghost following me home....

Hasn't been working since the ride came back from its Nightmare Before Christmas overlay.


And its not a projection. Its a physical effect involving animatronics moving in sync with the doom buggies. My guess its just one of those effects that they are letting stay broken instead of spending the money to fix like the Mater #1 and Sherriff animatronics on Racers and the snake on Indy.

It was working today and yesterday when I rode it. I guess I will have a ghost following me home

Not that it matters - it was working in late January - the first week it was "normal" again.

They basically don't move at all anymore. They've been broken since before the 2020 shutdown.
