No Grumpy Guses Allowed! Updated 5/15- We have plane tickets!

Shows how much attention I have been paying! :lmao:

Oh and Kya might get a trip to WDW in fall of 2016...Savannah's bday 3 night extravaganza (at POP, she insists) will be in October 2016. Unfortunately, I have to break it to you that you don't get to go...REY wants to go b/c it's his baby's 16th bday...and who am I to refuse the guy who's paying for it and also has an affinity for buying me copious amounts of GG slushies when we are there! :p We'll have to plan a girls trip at some point for you, me, and our cameras! :goodvibes It won't be long before our kids are gone and we'll have nothing but time to go to WDW together, so I'm too terribly worried about it! ;)

That guy, I tell ya. Takin up all my BFF time. :rotfl: Yep, I see plenty of trips in our future so I'm not too worried either. :upsidedow

And Kya may be getting TWO trips to WDW in fall 2016 then. Hazel will turn 3 that November and I'm trying to convince my brother that we need to take her while it's still free but as close to her birthday as possible so she'll get more out of it. ::yes::

Haha! Maybe you can come down the day we leave and Kya won't have to fly home and back, she can just stay when you arrive! Less flying for her! :thumbsup2

I know I have no problem with reading about your trip to DC. It's actually at the top of my list but we're waiting until my younger son is a little older. I really want to go when the trees are in full bloom but our school spring break is usually in April and I think they will have gone by then. Still, I'm absolutely dying to go so I'm happy to read along with your planning and experiences.

The pics of HOP are completely appropriate to tie the two together. We have to hit that attraction this trip, it's criminal that we've never been. :guilty:

That's a cool website, I'm going to spend some time checking that out.

I wish I had some advice for you about D.C. Have you ever been to Pittsburgh? I've been a few times when I visited my BFF while her DH was at Carnegie Mellon. I just did the touristy stuff for her so I can't tell you much just that I liked it way more than I expected to.

That's great about F&W!! I know you were on the fence about Coral Reef so that solves that problem. :goodvibes

OH YAY for F&W still going on! What a great surprise and unexpected add-on!

I have to wait another year to get to do it, so I"m looking forward to you take on it! :thumbsup2

Your DC plans sound good. I went to DC when I was a junior in high school, but honestly I don't remember much about it. I do remember visiting Georgetown and shopping (yeah, the important stuff) and the capitol building. We also went to Arlington and I believe I have pictures somewhere in an album (yes, before my scrapbooking days! :lmao:)

You could ask Erin a bit about it as that's her neck of the woods.

That's great you'll be there for the Food & Wine! We were there last year during the start of it and boy, was the World Showcase busy! Phew! Peter doesn't drink and Victoria isn't very adventurous with her food, so it doesn't hold much interest for them and I've never tried it, but it sounds awesome. I know you'll have a great time! Especially with your girl. I love my trips with just Victoria and I. They're awesome!!

As for Savannah's birthday trip I cannot believe Karen will be taking Rey instead of you?? I mean what's up with that?? I thought it was Bff's before husbands??!!! :sad2: Oh well, nothing would be stopping you from going as well and just getting your own room. Heck, I think I'll convince Erin to go and we can all crash Savannah's party!! Wouldn't Karen just LOVE that!! :thumbsup2 :dance3: Karen, are you listening???!!! :lmao:

I'm thinking Hope wouldn't necessarily enjoy hanging out with me and Rey while we're having nice alone time while the girls are out and about at the parks! :lmao: She might feel just a smidge like a third wheel, but what do I know??! :crowded:

:lmao:

I'm so excited that my days off coincided with the trees in bloom! And we homeschool so no worries about school calendars. Maybe when you're kids are older the school will be okay with them missing a couple of days for a educational excursion to DC. :thumbsup2

I have a whole blog post (which I'm not allowed to link because it's considered advertisement since I'm a TA but can send you the link in a PM if you like) about how much we LOVE things that others might find boring or too low key. HOP was one of my favorite things. :lovestruc

I have tinkered around on it so much! I just love it. :thumbsup2

We won't have much time in Pittsburgh but I think we may need to try to see at least one stop and go touristy thing on our way out of town just so we can add it to our scrapbook!

Yes, the decision is SUPER EASY now that I know we can get tapas around the world! popcorn::

I'm so excited! I promise to take tons of pics. :thumbsup2

I'm really good about getting new stuff into albums and/or scrapbooks but my old pictures seem to be destined to live in boxes... :rolleyes1

I 'm hoping I can arrange a non-Disney DISmeet while we're there! I'm not going to bug her with it right now but closer to the date I'm going to pick her brain and see if we can work it out to have lunch or something. :thumbsup2

If the Grumpies were coming I wouldn't even attempt to face the crowds of F&W but with just us girls I think we'll have fun. We don't mind a few crowds for the sake of adventure. And since WS is mostly about exploring and not riding rides or doing things that mean waiting in long lines I think we'll have fun. :)

I know you'll have a great time! Especially with your girl. I love my trips with just Victoria and I. They're awesome!!

So looking forward to it! We do lots of day trips together but have never done a proper vacation just the two of us and I can hardly wait. :lovestruc

It's like she's never even HEARD the phrase Sisters before Misters!! :rotfl:

Hey, who needs you- I'll have Anne and Erin to hang out with. :rotfl2:

TMI TMI TMI!!!!!!! :rotfl2:

Oh, man you must have missed her comment (can't remember if it was here on in her PTR) where she told me we couldn't hang out on Thursday afternoons when the girls get together because it's the only hour all week she and Rey have the house to themselves... :scared1:

1 HOUR a week. TMI? Yep, but you should feel sorry for me so I have to share! :rotfl:

ABSOLUTELY!!!! We can hang and just let them have "alone time", blech:sick:.....boys have cooties and I don't think Karen realizes this yet!!

Oh, I did see the Thursday afternoon comments. She apparently likes talking about her "alone" time!! :rolleyes1

So, we'll plan on November 2016 at POP!!! Cool!!!

Joining this PTR as an extension of my Tweedle Karen.

I had to come over and see what started the FB party this AM!!

Your mother/daughter trip is going to be amazing! I am SO excited to have one with my 13 year old DD this May. It's never been just her & me and we are the true Dis nuts (and my hubby can be a Grumpy Gus too- I actually nicknamed him Cap't Kill-joy in my last TR!).

Also, I ADORE DC! Love it, love it, love it. I have been there many times if you have any questions. My aunt lives 1/2 hour from there on the Maryland side.

I am happy to see my absolute favorite DC place on there- The Holocaust museum. It's so moving.

My Grandpa is also honored in the WWII memorial. We got to take him for the dedication when it was built & it was such an honor standing next to him. He was a POW in a German Nazi camp & so it means a lot to our family to have that memorial.

You will love, love, love DC! If you like Hall of presidents wait till you walk the First Lady exhibit! :thumbsup2

Anyways, I'm done rambling! Looking forward to following!

Hi Nicole! :welcome:

Capt'n Kill-joy! :rotfl2: I love it!

I'm so looking forward to DC. My daughter brought home my mom's photo album from her trip with my brother's 8th grade class and I've added a whole mess of new things to my list! :rolleyes1

So cool to have that experience with your grandpa.

Oh, and also- your GSC is so close! You crazy runners never cease to amaze me! :worship:

Seriously, there is ALWAYS something else to crop up and make me feel like such a dolt for not realizing it sooner! :scratchin

I was researching character breakfast choices for a client and found the list for 1900 PF includes POOH!! :confused3 How did I miss this little tidbit? Honestly, when I looked at allears I didn't pay much attention to the characters because I *thought* I knew who would be there- Mary Poppins, Alice, and the Hatter. No one ever talks about Pooh and Tigger being anywhere other than Crystal Palace. When I did a search on the DIS to try to confirm it the newest title search was TWO years old.

Anyway, what this has to do with my plans is that I'm now rethinking the Crystal Palace dinner. The ONLY reason we were planning to go there was so Kya could meet Pooh without having to worry about getting to a character spot on time. So, anyone know if Pooh is actually there daily? Karen, I know you went on your last trip- was Pooh there? :confused3
