Staying offsite so of course there was no chance to grab a FP for 7DMT - I'm checking daily in case something pops up.

BUT assuming we don't get one....we have a 10:05am ADR at CRT (this is a LOT of acronyms!), should I try to hustle immediately at 8am rope drop to 7DMT and try to ride it before that breakfast? I hate to waste those morning hours waiting in line if it's long when crowds are otherwise low.

We HAVE to ride this ride. Last time there it was about 3 weeks from opening so we've never been on it! Only 1.5 days in MK (one late arrival afternoon on a christmas party day...so only in park 11am - 7pm and then one full Saturday).

wwyd?

Yes, I'd try to hit it at rope drop. Only other real option would be at park closing, if you can be there for that. Line is really short then.

We stay off property too, so we have that same challenge. We've gotten FP+ once or twice, but it's hard. That's the only ride in all WDW that we really have that problem.

Yes, with no FP and if it's a must do, be at the front of the RD crowd and head straight there. You should be ok. Otherwise, you could do it right at park close if you will be there late. Any way to not do MK on a Saturday? That would help too.

We're only there for a long weekend - kind of a spur of the moment getaway, down and back. I wish we weren't there on a Saturday, believe me! I don't think there's any way my girls will make it to park close.

We had a somewhat last minute long weekend trip a month ago. No FP+ for mine train available. We had an AM EMH 8 AM opening on Friday morning. Got to MK about 10-15 minutes before the welcome show. Watched the show from near the tunnel on the left. Entered the park at rope drop and went straight to mine train and were loading onto a train in maybe 5-7 minutes. I think if you can be at MK before the welcome show and try to inch your way towards the tunnels, then head straight to the mine train when they open the park, you should be fine to ride with a minimal wait. The key is to walk with purpose straight to the ride if that is your priority. Stopping for photos on Main Street or the hub will mean getting to the ride after those who went straight there with no stops along the way.

THANK YOU! This makes me feel better and good to know about not stopping for photos as I absolutely would have done that.

Go immediately at rope drop or late at night. Riding it at night is a lot more fun imo

I will second the no stopping for photos! Also, you need to be early for rope drop, not just scooting in at the last second!

I was just there and was in the middle of the rope drop crowded and walked to the ride by the time I got there is was at a 30 minute wait. So if you can be at the front you should be ok

So this is interesting - touringplans is telling me to go to Winnie the Pooh first at rope drop, and if I get to 7DMT at 8:19am I'll only have a 17 minute wait. ?? That can't be right, can it?

No! No way that is correct! I would never prioritize Pooh over 7DMT! For one, Pooh can be gotten as a 4th FP+, that seldom happens with 7DMT!

Yeah..... no.

Not buying it.

Do not listen to touring planes here. If you wait you wait will go firm 30 minutes to 90 minutes And half the time I am there pooh is down first thing in the mornings

Assuming you don't have an afternoon ADR this day, another good time to ride would be at about 6:55 on the day of the party that you aren't attending.

I would go straight there at RD. It seems to be the only thing that will work in your situation.

Don't know if this helps you, but we decided at the spur of the moment to wait in a 60 minute line 2 years ago. The time went quickly and the queue was fantastic. I don't think we waited 60 minutes. This was in the middle of the day. I am so glad we did, because when our one and only day and time for fp for 7dmt came (our last evening), it rained and the ride was cancelled. We had an anytime fp for 7dmt, but it was no help as it continued to rain buckets, and we left early the next am. So, I guess I would just get in line; really it's not that bad.

We had no luck with it this weekend. Tried it right before closing Saturday night and at 11:36 there was still a 90 minute wait which would have put us back to the hotel after 2:00am. Sunday at rope drop it showed a 30 minute wait so we headed that way only to find that it was unavailable and when I checked the lines app around 9:30 AM it said opening 9:40? We just resigned ourselves that it wasn't going to happen unless we were committed to spending a good chunk of the day waiting in line. We'll get it next trip..
