No FOP day 64 :(

I'm going to be visiting Animal Kingdom February 13th. The day before that they have EMH, so hoping that will help going the day after.

Staying on property so which day would I be able to book FP for that day?

When is your check in day?

Ironically any day after the Wednesday I need them has tons of availability ... figures .

I was also hoping for Wednesday 11/15. When i checked the Touring Plans FastPass Availability tool at around 4am EST it showed they had already all been disbursed. I was actually fairly surprised I checked anyways being hopeful, but obviously they were all gone. Was able to get one for Saturday which was the second plan anyways. Ruins what I had planned for MK but I cannot go without riding FOP before I leave. We may just wait in standby on Wednesday depending on how long the wait is and I am still going to continue checking constantly between now and then.
What's the Touring Plans Fast Pass tool? I need to check it out!
I can make FPs on 9/27 and I have a bad feeling we won't score any for FOP. Ideally Animal Kingdom is Day 3 of our trip- 63 days (11/28). If I change things around, our ADRs will be screwed up, which I'd like to avoid. How worth it is it to rope drop FOP? We are early morning people (thanks to the kids!) so a very early arrival isn't a problem. But I really don't want to be running across the park all frantic to get in line.

Guess I was lucky too. My TA was able to get every FP I wanted at exactly the time I wanted them for 8 people, including FOP on 11/15. My 60 day window opened Tuesday.

My 60 day window opened on Aug 29th and the earliest FOP FP I could get was at 65 days.. and even then the choices were limited to late afternoon. At first I tried refreshing to get an earlier time, but then a lot of available times disappeared so then I just clicked on one LOL.

I rearranged our park days before my FP window opened and switched one of our Epcot days with AK because I didn't want to deal with the weekend F&W crowd.. so that put our first AK day on our arrival day. Of course I didn't get a FOP FP for our arrival day, but I keep checking multiple times a day hoping for something to free up! If not we will try to ride it during ROL (we've seen it once and we were very underwhelmed)

Our trip is only five nights, so I am assuming we will not be able to get FPs for FoP. We are traveling 12/31 thru 1/5, with 1/4 being our last day in the parks. I am just planning to rope drop it. Our DSs are older (17 and 14) and will enjoy and embrace the adventure of rope dropping it. I am, however, worried about DH. He might not be as enthusiastic.

February 11th

So if your check-in day is February 11 and you are staying on property you will be able to make fastpasses for the length of your stay on 12/13 @ 7am EST. If your AK day is your 3rd day of your trip chances are good you may not get FOP.

It's nothing that really helps you get fastpasses, per say, but it allows you to see what fastpasses are still available in each park on particular days. It is obviously not 100% accurate and I believe it only accounts for fastpasses for a party of 1. I'm not sure if I can post the link in here, but I usually just google 'touring plans fastpass availability" and it comes up as the first link. I honestly feel like rope dropping FOP can be hit or miss from what I've read. I think it depends on when your going in relation to how busy the parks are. I've read some horror stories of people running and pushing others out of the way to get there. But I feel as though this is not the norm. If you are going to AK on an EMH day I would say get there by 7:30-7:45ish and head right to Pandora. If it is regular park opening get there for 8:30-8:45ish. There have been a lot of reports of them opening main gates early so people who thought they were getting there "early" for opening were in fact late. I've read somewhere that there is an entrance closer to Rainforest Cafe I believe that offers a better path to get to Pandora, but I am not sure of this. You could end up walking on the ride or you could be waiting 150 minutes. You just never know. Everyone's experiences will be different. Good luck no matter what though! You will enjoy your vacation regardless!

:(

I'll try! Granted, we will have a 2 day park hopper so I can be flexible with both days. Whichever day gives me the FP I'll take it and go. I just assumed NOT going on a morning EMH day would benefit me(the day before we planned to go). Otherwise I guess lining up just before closing would be the best option?

Yes! I have heard that closing has fairly low wait times and they seem to inflate the wait time (possibly to defer people from getting in line right before closing). So if you see a 60 minute wait at close be a little skeptical, but don't be upset if you actually do wait for 60 minutes.

Just keep refreshing the page.

We made our FoP FP+ 60 days out, but then when we got here, we were able to find it 3 different days, just refreshing the FP+ page on the app.

I have read this phrase and want to clarify what it means. Do you mean click on another tier 1 FP you have in AK for that day and click modify and keep hitting the search/refresh button?
Sorry, we've been doing DLR lately, so it's been a while since using MDE.

Well if you don't have any Pandora FP+'s selected for that day, just keep selecting random times and see what pops up.

Hell just did it right now, and look what I found for today....

That's my issue - I have Na'vi booked as a backup and I don't want to let it go so I can't just keep selecting random times. However, if I just keep trying to "modify" Na'vi, it just says nothing is available.... i wonder if I am hurting my chances of grabbing something by having Na'vi taking up the tier one spot.

It will still find a Flight of Passage FP if it's available even if you already have a Na'vi River Journey one.

Thanks so much for the tips! We're there Sunday 11/26-Saturday 12/2, at the parks starting Monday 11/27. I have AK ideally planned as our day 3 (Tuesday 11/28) which is really our day 2 in the parks. If we can't get a FOP FP for that day (which looks pretty unlikely), on our last day Saturday 12/2, there are EMH at AK. I had planned on our last day spent entirely at MK, but now I'm wondering if we should try to still do AK on Tuesday as planned, then do AK the morning of our last day. But EMH rope drop at one park followed by closing down another (MK) feels so exhausting. I hate the thought of re-arranging our trip for one ride, you know? :/ We wouldn't wait more than 30-45 mins standby for it (I won't do that for any ride, my kids can't deal) so I wish I could see into the future and know just how crazy it'll be that week!!

I get the dilemma especially since you have small kids. My trip is just my boyfriend and me fortunately. I had wanted the FOP fastpass for wed. 11/15 which is our AK day and 4th day overall. We are still keeping this since I have a PPO Tusker House breakfast and AK is my favorite park. I thought I had planned it far enough into the trip but obviously didn't. Our last day is Saturday 11/18 which I had planned on being a MK day, we have park hoppers so I decided to make 3 early fastpasses in AK since FOP was available for that day (day 7 of the trip) and then we can hop over to MK for the rest of the day. My main goal that day is to see HEA so it doesn't really ruin anything except not being able to make fastpasses for MK ahead of time, but I'm sure we'll be able to snag a few same days. You really just have to be flexible with your days and plans and if you have hoppers be willing to use them. Have you checked any crowd calendars for that week? They're obviously not 100% accurate but they should give you a fairly good idea. I've heard that travelling early December is typically low crowd.
