Resort Thread Disney's POP CENTURY Resort

Just back from what was supposed to be a 2 night stay at Pop. I say supposed to because as we were driving up, we got a call from someone at Pop offering us a complementary upgrade to a suite in the Cars section of AoA! I don’t know if Pop was overbooked or not but it didn’t look too crowded. We never received an email about the pay for an upgrade that @byurick got which is why we were so surprised by the call. While we missed Pop, it was fun staying in a new resort and experiencing all that it has to offer.

Congrats on the upgrade. I would have totally taken that too. We don’t particularly like the cars movies but the area of AoA looks so cool and having the bigger room is a luxury. Always so happy for people that receive the complimentary upgrades like this.

Hi I have medications that need to be refrigerated how do I go about switching from a beverage cooler to an actual fridge in my room. Thanks

You can talk to the front desk when you arrive and they can provide you with a small medical fridge.

Have the standard rooms changed? We love to stay building 5 facing the lake. Looks as though they have changed these to preferred rooms. Anyone know?

Buildings 4 and 5?were updated to be Preferred Rooms in fall of 2025. This was how they were initially designated when Pop first opened.

@Tammydc, thanks for mentioning this. I have just updated the pic of the map on page 1 to reflect the updated categories.

Heading to pop in a few days. Sent in a room request via snail mail a couple of weeks ago and also via the reservations line. Fingers crossed its fulfilled 😀
Is there any benefit to checking in online now? I don't want to mess up the reso request if we do online checkin We arrive around noon. Does online checkin usually get you the room earlier? Thanks

I can't say whether or not online check in does take some/all types of requests into account. But this might be helpful to know...
When we did online check-in in February and I received the room number text, I called the phone number included in the text to ask if my request, a king bed, had panned out. The CM told me no and that she would see what she could do. A few minutes later I received a call from a CM at Pop Century (the caller ID said Fast Forward Arcade) who was able to reassign us to a king room and we received a text with the new room number. I was pretty impressed.

Thanks for the info. I wonder if being proactive and calling that number ahead of arriving and verifying/repeating your request would work.

I received the room text and called the number (in the room text) hours ahead of arriving - I am sure it made it easier for them that I had not accessed the assigned room before calling. I thought it was cool that a second CM called me directly to verify my request and then find a suitable room while I was still on the phone. (And, of course, I was lucky that my request was available at all.)

Another Snail Mail person-GROOVY!

If they do react to your Snail Mail, which we have had great success with, the online check in won't affect when you get your room.

In our experience, they will very likely put a "hold" on your room request because of the.Snail Mail and it will be ready when it is ready.

That is if it is a very specific request.

We have Snail Mailed specific room numbers before and asked the Front Desk when our room would be ready and have been told "Your room is not ready yet,but I do see a hold has been placed on it for you."

Doesn't happen every time but Snail Mail does really seem to impress the Room Assignors.

Interesting story-due to our own fault we were late mailing our Snail Mail requests once.

We mailed it anyway.

When we arrived sure enough our request had not been met.

But we were still happy with what we were given and moved on with our trip.

2 days later we returned to our room from the Parks to find some of our Resorts' themed merchandise with a note saying they were so sorry but our SN had just gotten there!

And we enjoy sending the SN-we try to make the note fun and express how excited we are to be coming back to the Mouse House!
