in December? I just did all our ADRs and now find out that the two days I picked for MK have no fireworks. Is this a must do or if we see them at HS or Epcot is that enough?

I agree - is it a MVMCP night? If yes that is why there are no fireworks. The MK is closing at 6 PM on those nights.
Did you make your ADR's in the MK that night? You have to have a party ticket to eat in a restaurant after 6.
On party nights, the MK closes early (typically 6-7 PM), all non-party guests have to leave for the day. They then do the Christmas parade and Holiday Wishes firework show for party guests only. The party is a "hard-ticket" event, it requires a buying a seperate ticket for a specific party night.
On non-party nights, the park will stay open later and have fireworks for everyone (probably Happliy Ever After). If you want the most out of the MK without a party ticket, then plan to go on a non-party day.
These hard ticket events are a huge money/maker for WDW and they schedule 3-4 a week. The same goes for the Halloween parties Aug-Oct., it's gotten to the point where the MK closes early for these almost every other day for four months out of the year. It tends to bunch up the crowds on non-party nights.
MVMCP has special party fireworks (that include the perimeter, 360 degree around you fireworks). You must have a party ticket to be in MK during the party fireworks. If you have a 5:30p ADR, a CM will probably escort you out of MK as you leave the restaurant.
