No fingerprint?

Taking a friend on chemo and son for 1st trip to Disney. Due to the meds, she has no fingerprint (it will not scan). Is there anyway to handle this ahead of time before we get to the turnstyle? Better to buy tix through guest services and explain?

My understanding is that they don't actually do a fingerprint. They more do a how long/wide is your finger. I'm pretty sure she'll be fine.

Cheshire will probably be along shortly and will verify what I said....or tell you I'm wrong (Lord knows it's happened before, lol)

When she gets the ticket there is a blank space on it where she can print her name in ink. When she gets to a turnstile, have a photo ID available which matches the name on the ticket.

And often if the lines are quite long to get into the park they will turn off the scanners so as long as the ticket is valid for the park it will register and unlock the turnstile.

When my husband was on chemo his ATM card was constantly not working and having to be replaced. We finally discovered that if he carried it in his wallet or pocket that the chemo was making the electronic strip inactive...If he left it in the console of the car it was fine. Your friend should always keep a photo ID with her in case her park ticket goes "crazy".

Forget a Rock, I find a pair of mint shoes is the ticket that way when I put my foot in my mouth (as I have an extreme habit of doing) it atleast tastes a little better.

I always have trouble with the fingerprint scanners. I always thought it was because of my taking my blood sugar with the finger I use on the scanner every time.

It's weird though, they just let me through and I'm using an annual pass. I wish they checked my ID to make sure it was me.

It is possible for the CMs working the turnstile to over-ride the finger print scanner. They sometimes do this for me to save me stretching up from my chair, and they also do it for children who are too small to reach or people who may have difficulty using the scanner, due to a disability.

CF's suggestion of taking photo ID is a good one, as it will help the CMs on the turnstile to verify that the right person is using the ticket. I'm guessing that not all CMs will look at it, but if you have it there, then you won't have to worry.

Is she all prepared for the other aspects of doing Disney with limited energy levels? I'd suggest an ECV, to help save her strength for the fun stuff (see the FAQ for more details), and if you need any further advice, we'd all be happy to help out.

Actually, I've never even had the question or attempt to finger print me.


But than again, it might be me? Even the CPB doesn't have all of my finger prints. (and no, no obvious-in-one-look-hand-deformaties or anything)
