No FastPass availability for SDMT 10/13

I made our FP selections this morning for October (we arrive October 12). I was online right at 7:00 AM. October 13 there was zero availability the entire day for SDMT. I tried all different sizes for our party, thinking we could ride it in groups of 1 or 2 at different times that day, but there was nothing!! I was so surprised and also disappointed. We've been to Disney many times, and we travel at some of the busiest times of the year. This is the first time I've encountered this! What are the odds Disney will make more FP available for that date? Am I being unrealistic in hoping for this?

You stand a better chance of hoping that someone cancels their FP

I would keep checking, as many people change their plans ALL THE TIME.....you will get it eventually.....

Additional FPs won't be made available, but I agree - keep checking and you should find something.

FWIW, there were recent posts regarding the non-availability of FoP FPs the week of October 9. They were not able to get those even several days into their trip (unusual since that hasn't been a problem until now). It seems this particular week may be very busy and FP availability is reflecting that.

0 chance Disney will make more fps available for the ride unless park hours are extended. If say MK were to close at 9pm and they changed it to 11pm, then they'll release FP's for the 9-11 hours. But they don't hold FP's to release at a later date

I agree with the strategy to keep checking back. I couldn't get a FoP FP for weeks, but just got a perfect time/date. Persistence pays.

To OP, there was plenty of availability for 7d on 10/14 if you're going to parks that day.

Note: There was so FoP availability for 10/14 but we'll only be hitting the parks on 10/13 so it didnt help me.

Thanks, everyone. I'm disappointed. I didn't realize Columbus Day week was so busy. Worse it's seeming than the week between Christmas and New Years. No chance Disney will extend hours to the evening. MNSSHP is that night. I am hopeful they will change the opening hour, though. We would be in good shape with a 7:00 morning EMH. Right now it's 8:00, and we intend to put that time to good use. Possibly we will run to SDMT first thing. Being in MK at 7:00 that morning would help, though.

We're only at WDW for the weekend for MNSSHP. School is out that week, but I couldn't get time off work until Thursday, and we lose a day traveling. We are meeting family there, and they want to do Epcot on 10/14 so that day is out for us for MK, unfortunately. I'm thinking next year we will forego a trip for MNSSHP.

Good luck! I hope you're able to get them! I knew FoP would be a lost cause for us this trip. We aren't even going to AK. I'm hopeful (though not too much) we might get FP for FoP in November. We weren't able to get any in July, which was no surprise. I was not expecting it like I was this morning with SDMT.

The Facebook groups I watch seemed to have a lot of success today getting their fast passes, even for FOP, so I'm not sure how much indication this gives of crowds...

My guess is that a few things were working against you.

1. 10/13 has shortened hours as it is a MNSSHP night (so less FP to go around)

2. It is a MNSSHP night so more guests could be booking FP for that day (both the day guests as well as those only holding party tickets for that day)

3. It is the EMH park that am so that may sway a lot of onsite guests to hit that park that day

4. You are only arriving the day prior so your 60 FP window just opened but those who are going for a week (like us) were able to start making FP for 10/13 several days ago.

That being said plans change all the time so I'd keep checking for FP-believe it or not I actually got one as my fourth FP one time as someone must have cancelled it at the last minute. Good luck

It seemed to be fall break crowds. On the Wednesday of that week last year, MK had 70,000 people there. And it felt like it, we didn't ride anything we didn't have a fastpass for because the waits we're incredibly long.

Note: There was so FoP availability for 10/14 but we'll only be hitting the parks on 10/13 so it didnt help me.
