Just in case you're wondering. :sad1:

Very little availability for November 1 as well, a bit better by November 2. I didn't check 2 BRs or larger.

We have an impromptu trip because we got causeway tix to see the shuttle launch - woo hoo! :cool1: but there's no rooms at the DVC "inn" for us!

We're going to stay at POFQ on an Expedia deal instead before moving over to Universal for Harry Potter later in the week. And we're squeezing in a MNSSHP and a day at MK on some old tix to see the MSEP. It's like the "special events" trip!

It's all good though - we will just bank those points to next year - we weren't going to go to WDW again this year anyway and this just popped up. But I'm still bummed out that we have to spend more money for a hotel.

Congrats!! I signed upfor the ticket lottery but wasn't selected. :sad1:

Your whole trip sounds great - have fun!

You are going to love the Shuttle Launch - we did the launch in April (last night launch) from the causeway. Awesome!

Thanks -I can't wait. I guess that would be one of my bucket list items - just crossing my fingers that it doesn't get scrubbed for some reason, because a make-up trip could never really happen for us with only 2 launches left.

Congrats on getting launch tickets. Slightly OT but for those who've seen a launch from WDW what would be the best viewing vantage point? I'm thinking maybe the beach at the Poly. Or the Contemporary dock?

I've seen others say that the Poly beach is an excellent view.

Vicki, with all the stunningly gorgeous resorts in the Orlando area, why stay in a hotel room for a non-Disney-centric trip? Live on the wild side! (PS: I bet it will be cheaper, too.)

Eh. Just because. That ended up being the cheapest deal, closest to the parks, that was of a resort level I would tolerate, that I could find in the amount of time I felt like dedicating to it. After all, aren't you the one that always says "don't discount the value of your time"! :lmao:

We would have stayed closer to the Cape, but the pick up for the shuttle thing is almost the same time in Orlando as it is in Titusville. Then when we decided to add the Halloween party, etc., it just made sense to be close. And we like POFQ. I don't need stunningly gorgeous for: show up, go to MNSSHP, sleep, get shuttle to the Cape at crack of dawn, spend all day at Cape, sleep, get up go to MK, sleep, leave for US/IOA. I *almost* considered a value, but I just couldn't do it! :rotfl:

We are moving over to some condo-type resort for the Universal part - the Point at Orlando. Who knows - it has pretty good reviews on TripAdvisor, so we will see.

$10 says you didn't even *look* offsite for those nights. Not even 10 minutes with expedia.

Cash money. I'll even believe you if you say you did...

I cant compare with anything but we watched from SSR last year and it was just beautiful to watch a night launch!

We are checking out of SSR Treehouse Villas on 10/31 and wanted BWV or BCV for Halloween night, but could only get a studio at SSR. Two weeks ago we were notified that we have a studio at BWV and are still waitlisted for BCV. BWV is fine with us.

Well I did - I searched Expedia for Lake Buena Vista. So I saw lots of other choices. I just didn't really *care* about them - not the ones I was willing to pay for (did take a second glance at the Waldorf)! We can call it a draw, Brian. I used to stay off-site (see my signature below) when we lived in Florida. I hated it.

I have actually seen a shuttle launch from Epcot. So I would expect there are lots of good places at Disney

(And just because I was curious... On Expedia the PO was the same price as the AAA rate for the Dolphin LOL!)

Well, the Waldorf would have been nice. Apparently, the UG folks stayed there, and said the bathroom was bigger than a Disney Value.

However, you have $10 credited to your account. PM me with your preferred mechanism of payment.

see my signature below
One of the downsides of turning off signatures...I couldn't take all the sparkly stuff!

Plus you can beignets at POFQ, worth a trip for sure.

Thanks Sammie - another thing in the plus column!

Were going too!!! Were stoked!

While we did not get the lottery per-say my parents did! So we are all going down. We just are making it an long weekend starting with a couple of days at Disney for Halloween then going to NASA for a couple then to Coco Beach to see Family for the rest of the week. We did not get a DVC room either but managed to book an AP discount room for 3 nights so that was good. All ends well as we already had a Grand Vacation booked week after Turkey Day anyway.

Enjoy the Shuttle Launch and lets pray for no issues!!! Fingers Crossed!

Oh no, I thought about calling MS today to look for a studio. DH's birthday is Halloween and he asked if I'd like to go in the next month or so. I'm also expecting our second child and thought we should go early on in the pregnancy or it'll be awhile before we get back. I'm also layed off work and feel bad about taking a trip while not working. But, while not working I've got plenty of time to go and after I find a job I may not get time off for awhile either. So today, I searched for flights for end of October, and would love to go to MNSSHP. I didn't even realize there was a shuttle launch then. Now I really want to go!

That's great- it is so exciting! I'm so bummed that our APs are expired - that's why we are only doing 1 day at Disney and MNSSHP, then getting 3 day US/IOA tix. I just can't spring for 3 day Disney tix and it's a good excuse to see Harry Potter too (4 day hopper US/IOA tix are $568, 4 day Disney hoppers were over $1100, even non-hoppers were $900). We never leave Disney most of the time!
