Was I not pushy enough? I called and after the CM got my name and address, I told him that I wanted to know if there are any discounts under my name. He then asked how many people...."2 adults and how many kids"? I told him and he said do you want something all in one room or, and I then told him I wanted 2 rooms and that my inlaws (2 adults) would be coming too. He then pushed me off and trasferred me to Grand gatherings. They of course didn't give me any discount.

We don't really want or need the grand gatherings, so since we have a party of 9, can we do it with out the grand gatherings? Or do we have to book through them?

If I call again in a few days or next week, should I press harder on not getting transferred, or just keep asking about the discount before telling them about how many people?

I am guessing there wasn't any discount, but I also have read they some CM don't like to indulge that info very easily. (Yes, I have done all I can to get the discount. lol ie. order plannin dvd, have disney visa, movie club, order from online shopping, saved trips on planner on their site, updated information on there too, etc.....)

So, I guess I just sit and wait. I guess I just want some advice for next time I call. Thanks! :)

I would call and make your reservation for your immediate family, no mention of the inlaws. Ask more than one time if there are any discounts attached to your name.
Keep away from grand gatherings.
Then after you finish that call, call back and book for your inlaws and have their reservation connected to yours.

Thanks, cruise! There are 7 of us in my immediate family and we want to stay in a deluxe (max. 5 per room), so should/can I book 2 rooms for us and then just add inlaws to the 2nd room? (They will be paying for their room and 2 of our kids tickets, etc that are staying in their room.)

Sometimes, I wish it was just us going to make booking easier, but they will be such great help with the little kids when we get to WDW. lol

Actually we found grand gathering to be more helpful than the regular CRO CMs. Last year we had a CM with GG who tried every way possible to find us a discount. She actually found several, but my dates were not within the times allowed. This was the same for my DIL. The GG CMs worked very hard with her and helping her find discounts. I have a reservation for August and it was also transferred to GG (only 7 of us??). The CM I had was wonderful. He took all of my info and before I booked he quoted me a price. Then I ASKED HIM if there were any discounts and he said yes and quoted me a price that was 30% off. I then asked him if I had the 40% discount and he looked and said YES, so then applied that. I think one of the keys to getting the discount is being within the allowed weeks. There is such a small window that is allowing discounts.
