No dinning plan with AP???

Is this correct? I am told I need to buy a base ticket, even though I am buying and annual pass, in order to do the dinning plan?? This doesn't seem to be correct to me.

That is correct. The dining plan is only available with a package, which means a room AND a MYW ticket purchased through Disney.

The only other way right now is if you own DVC. Starting with trips April 1.

However, if you have an AP (or AP voucher) you can buy a DDE card for $60 which gives a 20% discount on food and beverages at all table service restaurants, all resort lounges, and AK, value resorts, and POFQ; all of which do not have table service for up to ten people in the party. It is probably a better deal than DP, especially since you can also use it with discounted rooms or even if you are not staying on property.
