No dinner ADRs at HS 12/7?????

On Sunday I was able to make all of my ADRs for my upcoming December trip, and did really well with what I wanted. For a few places I needed to adjust my times by a few minutes or so, but overall did great. I snagged ADRs for Chef Mickey's, Le Cellier, Ohana, Kona, HDDR, Boma, Citricos and Akerhus. I was surprised and thrilled that I was able to get so many "tough" ADRs especially during free dining.

The only ADR I was unable to get on the night I wanted was for the Hollywood Brown Derby on Dec. 7th. As a matter of fact, there were no dinner ADRs available after about 4:30 or so anywhere in the Studios that day. It's a non-Fantasmic day, so I was a bit surprised that I couldn't get in anywhere at a normal dinner hour. I've been seeing on the boards here, that I'm not the only one. It seems like no one has been getting a dinner ADR for the 7th at the Studios. I've never had a problem getting a HBD ADR before. It's just odd.

Does anyone have any idea what's going on at the Hollywood studios that day? Has anyone been able to snag a dinner ADR there? I thought it would be quieter that day since there is no Fantasmic show that day, but it's not looking like it.

That's during Pop Warner week. Maybe they have something special going on there which booked up all the restaurants.

I was also not able to get a late ADR for Mama Melrose on 12/5 and it's a non-F night. The CM said that often later times open for the DHS restaurants as you get closer in. I know that use to be the case, but didn't realize it was still like that. So I will be checking as I get around the 45 day mark, or any other time that suits me. Good luck.

YC/BC and BW restaurants are alternatives. Doesn't take very long to go over there for dinner and then return to the park.

Pop Warner has a private party at DHS every year for which the park closes early. That may be the day of the party this year.

I would suggest somewhere on the boardwalk. You can walk there or take a quick boat ride from HS. What about Cape May Cafe? We are going there for the first time in three weeks and i've heard great things about it.

12/7 must be a busy day in the world! I made my ADRs this morning at 5:50 and REALLY wanted Chef Mickey's that night. Well I couldn't get that so moved on to choice #2,3,and 4 (1900 PF, Boma, WCC) and couldn't get any of those either. Ugh.

Is there any way to find out for sure about the Pop Warner thing? And if they are there that day/night, is it all day or just the evening?

We had a heck of a time trying to build a morning/evening at Studios into the plan (with a boat over to EPCOT for lunch) on a non-Fantasmic night. Monday 12/7 is our one main day/evening at Studios!
