No Day But Today-A Third Installment of TigerCheer2009's Progress so Come On In!

Hey Jen,

I can't wait for spring... How about you? This snow has to go!

Sounds like you are doing a great job! Hope weigh-in goes well for you.:goodvibes

I bought that FIRM DVD on eBay yesterday. I can't wait to try it out! I was a cheerleader, a gymnast, and in show choir and I love to dance! Thanks for sharing the info with us.

Have a great weekend!:cool1:

Spring cannot possibly come soon enough! The snow is okay in a dusting but this is like 20 dustings that stick. Not cool.

Hope you like the DVD!! I am going to fight my way through, uninterrupted, tomorrow (no school because of conferences).

Tomorrow's breakfast will be tough. We have a housecleaner (we have cleaning issues apparently) and when she comes, we go. To breakfast. It's tough because I instantly reach for pancakes/waffles/french toast etc. This time it's going to be different.

We're going to Bob Evans (fingers crossed) and I plan on getting either the Seniors Lite Sausage Breakfast (469) with sausage, Egg Beaters, fruit and butterless wheat toast. Or I can have 2 slices of French toast and 1 slice ham (373) plus syrup. The 'toast option looks more doable to me so that I get my "yay!" breakfast, as well as some protein. Water will be to drink, no matter what the option.

I informed my dad about this lifestyle change when he asked me about what I wanted to eat there because I think I overplayed the topic a little. I said "ham, fruit, toast, eggies". I wasn't going to lie to him-he's my DAD! But he was questioning my seriousness. I told him that if I wanted to be healthier for cheerleading, then my eating habits would have to change (sports are important to him, but so is health. He was the JH wrestling coach this year). A size 18 body doesn't fit very well into a size 16 skirt (which I think is the biggest they make) and would more likely make people gag and scream when I do my jumps than people applauding and being excited over my jumps. I'm overexaggerating the point some, but you get the idea. If not, ask and I'll clarify.

I think I better get to bed...I'm going to fill up my Literbottle of water (Lucy the Liter) and hit the hay.

Have a GREAT night everyone!

Did I mention I went to a basketball game tonight and didn't eat a thing?! Yeah, I know. I had two bottles of water and that's it. I was hungry...I almost had zombie bites of a pretzel and some popcorn. But I didn't. I didn't! Heck yes!

Yay for avoiding the unhealthy snacks at the game!!! :cheer2:

Did you stick to your healthy plan for breakfast? That's great that you thought it out beforehand, it always makes it so much easier.

You'll be in tip-top cheerleader shape in no time, keep it up!

I stuck to my healthy plan but had 2.5 slices of French toast and the ham. I wanted that other slice so I bargained with myself (1/2 is good! You're really feeling satisfied, Self. You really don't need that other half...you're feeling pretty full...) I planned the meal out ahead of time or I would have kept to the usual: 3 cinnamon pancakes (pancakes as large as the plate) with 2 syrups, extra butter, and sausage with a HUGE glass of orange juice. That is how I got to be the way I am...and looking at it now, it's like an eye opener! I must admit, I was absolutely starving this morning and to keep myself from whipping out a cereal box, I had 6 grape tomatoes.

We went grocery shopping and I snuck as many healthy things in as I could like...
-fruit (apples, clementines, bananas, pears, strawberries)
-whole grain Ham and Cheese hot pockets *for work only*
-Soup at Hand (3 creamy tomato, 1 chicken and stars) *for work only*
-yogurt (lemon chiffon and vanilla Dannon Light and Fit)

I do have to work tomorrow at the local drugstore 2-6. I'm bringing the Chicken and Stars with a spoon, some fruit, my Literbottle, and a yogurt. I have a slight dipping obsession.

Lunch was:
*2 tilapia filets covered in cayenne pepper (never again! now I have no more taste buds!) and lime juice
*1 Dannon Light and Fit Vanilla Yogurt
*1 pear (to dip in the yogurt...just like candy to me!)
*Small salad of lettuce, 11 grape tomatoes, 1 TBSP mozzarella cheese.

It was really filling. My brain is still sending me hungry waves, but I'm thinking it's boredom. During lunch I filled the Literbottle again to try and make my mouth chill out, and I'm still drinking from it...so I'm not thirsty.

I do get to go and help film a "commercial" for my friend's English class at 4:30, and I have another basketball game tonight at 6:30 (last one of the year). I'm going to change into my sweats and get this cardio workout done!

Thanks for visiting, Amy! I really appreciate it and I'll be making my journal rounds in a bit!

Hi Jen
Well done for being so good at the game, hope you manage to do it again tonight

& also well done for resisting the temptations at breakfast :cool1:
I love american breakfasts :goodvibes every time we visit wdw i cant wait for the all you can eat breakfast buffets :cloud9: Good job we dont get them over here:rolleyes1

Keep up the great work

:grouphug: I did pretty well tonight. I went over to my friend's house to film the commercial...they ordered pizza and I was ravenous. I had 4 small pieces, but thanks to my light lunch it was okay. I drank most of my water there because they were serving soda. I got strange looks all around and I said it was because I needed to stay hydrated for the musical. There's that, but if I told them I was changing my lifestyle, they'd freak out. There are a few kids in my school who take the dieting and exercise to extremes...not good.

I had only water during the game because I couldn't come home and check my count. We won!! :cheer2: I was made aware of why I want to be a cheerleader again. It isn't the glitz of the uniform, the perks that come with it, or the kind of sleazy dances they perform at halftime (which I hope to change because I am NOT a sleaze!) It's being one of a chosen few who gets to do what they love-support something and scream and yell and not get anything but knowing you raised morale in return. It's being looked up to by little girls who want to be in the position. I do it for me, but I do it for them as a way to say "not all cheerleaders are blonde, ditzy and skinny. Some of us have meat on our bones, and love what they do!"

Thanks for stopping in, Tracey! I love breakfast-if you ever get a chance to try stuffed french toast, take it. It's wonderful!

Weigh in tomorrow-I'm off to do some crunches and gravity splits while I watch TV! OH! I finished my cardio DVD again today! I'm also going to look for some good leg exercises (flexibility plus leg strength equals better jumps!) I also think I'm going to have a yogurt because I'm truly hungry.

hugs to all! :grouphug: :grouphug:

Weight: 210. Waist measurement: 41. Stomach around measurement: 42.

I earned a CLIPPIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I also set my first goal: 180 by September 1, 2007.

I have a slight fruit obsession. You'll see when I post breakfast:

1 Lean Pockets Whole Grain Ham and Cheese Hot Pocket (ew, blech, never again!)
1 pint strawberries, washed/hulled/sliced (minus a few berries)
1 medium pear
1 Dannon Light and Fit Vanilla Yogurt

Good fiber source, anyway.

Thanks for the positive words, Tracy! I hope I can keep this behavior up!!

I had a decent weigh in. That was about all that was decent about today.

Breakfast was way too much fruit.

Lunch was 1 cup serving of rigatoni with 1/4 cup spaghetti sauce and a salad

Dinner was 2 servings of spaghetti Alfredo and 1.5 slices garlic bread.

Snack was an apple.

I should know better-I should have had my soup. I could kick myself right now because it's late. I need to eat when I'm hungry and I was hungry at 5:30. I started dinner at 7:30. But if I eat early, I don't eat with my family and I love eating with them. When I eat that late, I'm ALWAYS so ravenous that my portions and calorie count are WAY WAY WAY out of this world. :sad2: I need a food smacker and I need one NOW!

I was busy all day with work and I had to mop the entire store (which is a moderate size store) with a mop that felt like it weighed 30 pounds soaking wet because some silly changed the mop head. I also spent my last 5 minutes there dashing between the front and the back because we didn't unlock the money. People kept needing to buy things so I couldn't sneak away to have my soup!

Did I mention TOM is supposed to make his arrival Monday? I can definitely feel his wrath because I'm eating more than I normally do and I seriously want to snap at people.

I want a hug. But for now I'm going to do some kind of exercise to work off a dinner from heck.

That last post was kind of ranty. Sorry about that.

On the agenda today is church, Mardi Gras Dinner, and laser tag. March 24 I was supposed to go to Kalahari but I have to work then. :( Do I cancel work (because I haven't been there and I've asked for time off since the play started) and go or do the work and stay behind?

See ya!

Hi Jen
Congrats on the clippie
I'm just getting over the worst of TOM I too was very snappy & over eating :sad2: so at least your not alone
Whats the stuffed french toast stuffed with????
The nicest i've had was at the crystal palace character breakfast in MK!
Yum yum :cloud9:

Hey Tracey! TOM is never a very nice fellow to me. :( :( :( I'm ready for it to be over.

Last night I started "Xtreme Laundry" again. The gist of it is: every time you fold a piece of laundry, you do an exercise (10 jumping jacks, 20 crunches, wall pushups, jumps, etc.).

Stuffed french toast is stuffed with vanilla cream cheese-almost like a cheesecake filling, if you will. Yummy! If you liked it at Crystal Palace (we loved it!), I think you will like it.

Church went well-I think I really needed it. The sermon was about letting your light shine and about darkness. Our pastor said that we need to remember that Darkness Will NOT Prevail. I think that was just the kick I needed to get back where I needed to be. I will not let that Dark Day Prevail over me!

Lunch was amazing! My church has some good cooks! I had potato soup, 3 slices of homemade bread (delish!), pumpkin pie (one slice), a little bit of taco salad and some fruit salad. We brought a garden salad that went pretty quickly and the fruit salad so I could have a healthy nosh. Water was my beverage.

In about an hour I'm going off to play laser tag!!! It's fun AND exercise so I'm excited!

You are doing awesome Jen, keep it up! Way to go earning that clippie!! :yay: :cool1:

Don't worry about ranting, it's better you vent here than take it out on cheesecake or cookies, right??

Have you thought of having a light snack (like a string cheese and apple) when you are hungry at 5:30, then eating with your family? Or maybe you could have 1/2 your dinner at 5:30, then the other 1/2 with your family? That way you wouldn't be starving by the time family dinner rolls around and you'd still get to eat with them...

Hi Amy! Thanks for the advice-I think I'm going to take the small snacking thing into consideration.

Laser tag was fun! I played 3 games, ran around and worked up a MASSIVE sweat. We ate at Pizza Hut so I got the Personal Pan with sausage, pepperoni and tomatoes and I split an order of breadsticks. It was a HUGE amout of calories consumed today (1685!!) but I worked 480 of those suckers off with a ton of running in laser tag. I drank 5 glasses of water at the restaurant!

But now I'm home and I'm not feeling too well. I'm running a fever (so I think) because I feel like junk and I had cold chills at the restaurant. Now I'm feeling warm. I'm going to pop a couple of Advil, and go to bed.

I woke up feeling MUCH MUCH better (thank you Tylenol Allergy and Sinus and Advil!) On deck today is a dentist appointment at 9 and possible play practice.

Breakfast: 1 cup strawberries
1 slice PB toast with 1 TBSP peanut butter (PB)

March 24 I was supposed to go to Kalahari but I have to work then. :( Do I cancel work (because I haven't been there and I've asked for time off since the play started) and go or do the work and stay behinnd?

Hi Jen,

What would happen if you cancelled work that day? Can you switch shifts with someone? We went to Kalahari for the first time a couple of weeks ago and we loved it! The waterpark was good, but the rooms were sparkling clean and so spacious! We also got a great rate on the room so the whole experience was a :thumbsup2 !

I hope you are feeling better today.:goodvibes Have a great Monday!:cool1:

Hi Tracy! Ooooooh! Now I want to go...I'll definitely see if I can switch shifts with someone.

Our church goes every year and I had SO much fun last year. I kind of feel bad because I've only worked a handful of days since the play started. I like my drugstore job, but not a love like my ice cream store job. There are more people my age and I have more fun at the ice cream place and I can work the days I want...but it's seasonal and the pay isn't as good. Drugstore pays more, but I clean more (which is something I don't care for) and it's more like a "real" job with a set schedule. Ponderings, ponderings, ponderings.

Dentist appointment went very well-no cavities! :teeth:

I'm getting hungry now, which is good because the fluoride's got 6 minutes to go. I think I might have a light lunch/snack combo. How I wish I could go to WDW and pick up some food! I think I'd get some BBQ from Flame Tree, or something like the chicken salad or turkey wrap from Tusker House (can you tell I'm looking at menus?)

Okay. I just made my tryout cheer.

The words are as follows (x's are claps)

Yes x
We're back x
And better than before x
NB (jump) Tigers
Are here to rock the floor x
So c'mon crowd get with us x
Get up on your feet x
Orange and Black (pause, x x) can't be beat

Better be off to do some gravity splits and such.

Hi, Jen, sweetie! sorry I haven't been around (computer problems and severe migraine minimized my DIS time :sad1: ). I have been missing you and your positive spirit, so I thought I'd drop in.
I hope you can find someone to switch work days with you so that you can go to kalahari. Keep up the consciousness about what you eat. I really do think that if we are noticing what we are eating, we'll eat less and healthier. I agree that those low carb lean pockets are ewwwww!!!!
Love the cheer. Glad to see you are back to x-treme laundry! Great exercise! So, it's back to school tomorrow, right? Have you packed your lunch or planned your breakfast? ;)
