Looks like I'll be heading up on the 1st and attending the party that night. I am leaving right after school gets out (we live 2 1/2hrs away) and arriving around 6pm. I was thinking about possibly NOT having my DS5 in costume. Will he be totally out of place?

I'm worried about time and the heat. I want to enjoy the evening not struggle with a costume. But I don't want my DS5 to feel out of place.

Most of the children are in costume. I would say it depends on him. If he is the type that would be upset if everyone else was in costume then I'd say bring one.

We had no problems last year with DD2 and DD6 in their costumes. It adds to the mood of the night. It really wasn't all that hot the night we went.

Another option would be to buy a Halloween tshirt. I saw them at Target yesterday for $5. Alot of kids did this last year.

I didn't want to mess with costumes (bad mommy!) either, but I know my 3-yo would feel left out if he didn't have one. I ordered him a Buzz lightyear pj pal from TDS online, it's too small, so I'm going to put it on DS age 1 and I got a bigger one for 3-yo. It doesn't look exactly like a costume, but he thinks it is, so....

Their regular costumes for this year will have to be very warm/fuzzy type costumes, they will be too hot for WDW.

I have to agree it really depends on the kid. Does he like to dress up. My son has already liked dressing up from an early age anyhow. Even buy a cowboy hat and a bandana for his neck, pair it w/ a button down shirt and you have an easy cowboy. There's so many simple easy ideas, I think if he wants to dress up you should be able to find something pretty easy.

thanks for all the input !

My DS5 LOVES to dress up, in fact he constantly is wearing previous yrs costumes (spiderman, power ranger, batman) so I guess not wearing one really would bother him.

I like the t-shirt idea too!

Maybe I'll pack the batman costume and buy a shirt then he could decide.

Oh and another thought.....pictures would look much cutier if he was in costume!

So, I guess "Batman" and I will be going on the 1st!
