No coffee or refilable mugs???

I cannot believe that Disney would close down the WL Roarin snack place for that long!!! There will be no place to get am coffee or to refill all those mugs.
Think of how many people need that morning cofee..not to mention those quick breafast sandwiches and muffins on the way to the parks...no soda or ice cream near the pool either....seems like they would loose alot of $$. I hope they will set something up temporarily

Having stayed at other resorts and read other reports when places were undergoing rennovation, I would be fairly certain that there will be some food and drinks someplace.... I wouldn't panic yet.

I'm sure they'll set up a station somewhere for that, or direct people to the mercantile at WVL.

I thought I read that they were going to have a "place" for grab & go snacks and such. I'll try and see where I saw it. I wouldn't worry...I"m sure they will make sure something is available for their guests.

When we were at the GF in 2004 they were renovating the food court area there and they used the summer house as a substitute. So my guess would be that maybe they will use the WL pool bar area as this is the only other real area where you could set up a snack/drinks area??

Last time we stayed at the WL every morning there was a coffee, muffin, fruit stand in the main lobby.

There are coffee pots in the rooms. Also if RF is not open you can not buy a mug so no need to have a place to refill it, since mugs are only suppose to be used during the trip they are purchased. (does that make sense?) It would be nice if they would set something up, maybe at Artist Point for some quick service during the day. We too will be at VWL the first week of February and roaring forks will not be missed by us because it rates very low on our list. Since we stayed at WL in 1995, did you know that roaring forks use to only ALL be in the one small room. The current seating area use to be the arcade, so it has grown once before. So if you think it's small now, you should have seen it in 1995!!

We just got back from WL and had a coffe pot in the room. Just a small 2 cup pot, but there was reg, decaf and tea bags replenished every day. We needed coffee before we got dressed to go to RF for coffee.

We weren't so lucky. The maid didn't replace the coffee, and eventually the cups disappeared and weren't replaced too despite requests. Also, it takes a bit of hassle to make the coffee - not much, but more than getting it freshly brewed! Ah, hopefully they will set something up for those of you there at that time otherwise it is ridiculous.

We moved the coffee pot to the sink area. Much more convenient. We left a note for Mousekeeping for additional decaf coffee. DBF only drinks decaf and he needs it in the morning and early evening (he says it wakes him up, I don't get it but I'm not about to argue). Mousekeeping left us 3 decaf packs a day.

Well if they didn't do renovations and keep things looking nice then people would complain. It's not like you can't get coffee elsewhere, like the parks. That being said, they will probably have something set up. Also, you can always request a coffeemaker in your room if there isn't one there already. They will make a lot more money when things are "refreshed".

They could use the seating area, as they are only going to rehab the food area. I am sure there will be something available as you said on a take out basis with drinks, coffee, and prepackaged items.

Someone just posted on the WL FAQ's thread that they called WDW and were told that there will be a place set up to refill the mugs and get coffee.

They plan to set up a grab and go in the area where seating is for Roaring Forks.

The menu is not set, but there has been mention of cereal, pastries, some type of hot breakfast sandwich, pizza, hot dogs, cold sandwiches, salads, and beverages including coffee. It will be a grab and go situation during the rehab.

Not sure about refillable mugs, I have been told conflicting info on that, so I guess that is a wait and see.

Since I am arriving on Jan 5 and staying until Jan 12 at the VWL, this is very important to me. Our family (all seven of us) uses the refillable mugs a lot and we will have to make other arrangements for beverages if they are cancelling the mug program while we are there. I don't want to buy the mugs for only half my stay.

We have called the WL, they know nothing about this. But I got a letter today from the DVC confirming the RF will close 1/9.

Does anyone know where I can get some real information as to their plans?

There is seating outside around the pool.

I don't think I would want to eat in the lobby. Many will probably get it for their rooms since there are tables there and on the balconies.

I posted earlier in this thread their plans, at this time no decision has been made for refillable mugs, but it would seem during this time they would not be offered.

Since you are staying in the villas and will have a refrigerator I would make plans for drinks in the room.

I emailed WDW about the refillable mugs, and here's what they wrote me back:
