No clocks in rooms?!

We just checked in yesterday and discovered there is no clock in our room (Beach Club). When I asked, they said one can be brought to our room, but that we are on "Disney Time." Does anyone know when this clock removal happened and is it in all hotels? We were here in February 2015 (GF) and had a clock in our room. Just seems a bit weird to me as I have never been in a hotel room without a clock.

It has been happening over the last year or so. Since most people use their phones for everything, they're freeing up the outlets.

I think they will always be available "on request"-that's what I've been doing.

Who wants to roll over in the middle of the night wanting to check the time and have to grab their phone?
It seems like most people, want to do just that.

It is a new generation and they are pretty much attached to their phones.

I would prefer to not see the light of the clock in the middle of the night. I have noticed that the less ambient light at night, the better I sleep. If I wake up in the middle of the night and really need to know what time it is, I will check my phone, but that doesn't happen often.

Everyone I know?

Research shows that a lot of people sleep with their phone. And that's the people who ADMIT to it.

I started using my phone as an alarm after I had a power outage and my alarm clock didn't go off. Luckily, I woke up anyway somehow! But, I do certainly do not sleep with my phone; rather, I have it on the nightstand.

We unplug the clock anyway for our phone chargers. At home we don't have clocks in the bedroom, we use our phones.

I noticed this too, but then it makes sense because nearly everyone just uses their mobiles for the time and alarm these days so..

Probably saves them quite a bit on electricity too.

If you do like to have a clock, there are bedside clock apps available for iphone and android. they will display the time without you having to pickup the phone and hit the button (I know this seems lazy but sometimes you just don't want to move that much in them idle of the night). just place your phone so it is standing up or on its side.

I like to roll over in bed and check the time on the alarm clock, not mess up my circadian rhythm by opening up my cell phone and getting blinded by the bright light.

Good news!

The new iPhone update includes a setting where your phone can be dim at night - and you can adjust the time frame!

Count me in as someone who has her phone on the night table in lieu of a clock.

We always unplugged the clock to make room for our chargers. They are more in the way than helpful.

I always put a towel over them as the light was always to bright for us.

How inconvenient! I don't have a smartphone and rely on a bedside clock.

Not having a smart phone is the minority now, and Disney has to cater to the majority. You can still request one for your room.
