no call back from DVC guide

I am concerned that our guide could be dragging his feet to return our calls to cause us to pay a higher price per point. With the rumor of the POLY DVC going on sale the 2nd week of january at 180 a point :scared1:, this delay in returning our call is worrying me! My DH called him saturday and tuesday with no return call from him. He emailed me saturday morning confirming that my DH would be calling him that day to give our info to him and start the paper work. I am so confused! 6 days seems a little excessive to not return a clients call !

What do you think? Could this have anything to do with the poly rumors? Or a busy schedule?
TIA

If you really want to buy call him don't wait for him to call you. If you are still not happy ask for a different guide.

Where did this come from? I really do not think Disney will put the poly on sale at 180 per point, while the GVF is still on sale at 165.

Call another guide. My guess is it is the holidays.

I doubt he's dragging his feet to get you to pay a higher price. When I bought I had a hard time getting my guide to call back too. I would call again and if he doesn't respond within a couple days, call and ask for someone else.

It's being reported on another forum. They got the info from Paul littles DVC site. It's not confirmed by disney yet of course but it's supposedly a good source.

I assume that its just the holiday season, but I would still request a different guide. I don't think that intentionally stalling sales would benefit Disney, even with the rumors about Poly.

i would nix the guide and move to the resale offerings.

I took you advice I decided with all the drama around price increases and such it was time to move on! I am much happier with my service thus far with resale!
:thumbsup2

Resale is a much longer road than even the most unresponsive guide. I am all for resale to save money, but if you are anxious to get in, as you seemed in your posts, resale is going to be a nail-biter. Best of luck, though, and I hope you get what you want at a good price.

Agree with you on the patience required, but want to emphasize to the OP the true financial consequences of choosing a direct purchase for time convenience.

On my 300 point contract, I saved $60 per point versus direct, or $18,000. Figuring that resale took about 70 days longer than a direct purchase would have, in essence I was "paid" $257 a day (in savings) by being patient enough to wait for the resale process to wind its way.

There are a few perfectly valid reasons to purchase direct from DVC. Time convenience isn't one of them.

Especially when service has taken such a downslide. When my sis bought BLT direct, her guide did everything and very quickly. He even got her a room at BLT when there was no availability. He picked up the phone and she got a lake view studio reserved. I think it may have even been before she closed, but that was several years ago. Maybe their job has become easier with VGF? Still don't understand a salesman not returning a call.

I busted my guide's chops about not returning a call one time a few years ago, and after a few minutes of politely apologizing, he admiditted his dad had died unexpectedly. I was a bit skeptical, so I googled his name and sure enough, there was an obituary.

I felt, and still feel like a jerk, but being in sales, I have, unfortunately, seen a fellow rep who apparently had 20 fathers with similar unexpected deaths. Karma eventually caught up.

Not making excuses, but even the most pixie dusted cast member still lives in the real world and has very real life issues. While juggling numerous high stress client orders, my wife went into labor weeks early, and my mom was rushed into an emergency room 1200 miles away within minutes of each other. Suddenly my commission and profit for my employer took a rare backseat to what has to matter. I wish sales organizations had adequate backup, but normally, it is a bare bones environment.

And When it rains......
