No Buy November 2009

You know, I'm not real sure how it got to be the 10th?:confused3 I had no idea that this whole tree thing was going to turn into a part time job. And now with the insurance replacing the roof, well, it just made it crazier. We've picked our contractor and sent our insurance check off to the mortgage company, so it is all just a waiting game right now. Seriously though, as a big box retail manager, the last thing I needed at the end of November/beginning of December is major home repairs.

I didn't do so great setting a list of exemptions. We'll be at my parents' house for Thanksgiving, so I'll budget $100 for that and I have $500 in the old Xmas stocking. Other than that, I hope to keep everything else as low as possible. Oh, and I'm starting today instead of trying to re-create the train wreck that has been the last 9 days.:rolleyes1

So today is a $0 day. We are at home getting the house ready for company this weekend so no going out today.

11/11-$0:thumbsup2

Here's to a good late start!:rotfl2: Glad I finally started too. That $10 any pizza any size at Pizza Hut was calling my name. Really glad I ignored it. Honestly, once I start cooking (which I love to do) its no big deal. But, when I'm tired and I start thinking about it... well, you know.;)

WhooHoo! I am shooting for no extra spending at ALL this month.

SO......I found some things to return to the store (Costco) and I found a gift certificate to Target and a gift certificate to Starbucks! And we took our coins to the coinstar for the $10 free gift card plus the $68 in coins and we have $78 gift certificate for Amazon!

So, I used the $37 return to Costco for veggies.
The $25 Target card for sweats for the boys so we can turn the heat down
$15 Starbucks card for coffee beans for the month
$78 Amazon card will go towards Christmas gifts for the boys!

So far I have spent $0 (ok, not technically, but still no added out of pocket!)

We are also doing the pantry challenge and plan to only buy staples and produce and dairy.

Way to go, Dawn! You are redeploying your resources.

I was especially impressed that you used the Starbucks card for beans for the month instead of one deliciious latte.:worship:
