No Buy March

This is my first no buy month :)
My goal is 10 no buy days.

This month is the month my significant decrease in pay starts so I really hope to stick to my budget! I do have my BFF's bridal shower on the 27th, and I will probably have to buy stamps to mail the invites (soon!) and buy her a gift, but I have that worked into other $$ so it shouldn't be a problem.

Budget
$200 - groceries/food (but the past 2 months we've spent $250, so I expect to go over but want to try SO hard to stick to just $200 since we have so much food in the cabinets already that we can use)
$150 - gas
Misc - $30

3/1 - $0!

I'm in again.

March Budget

Grocery/Household- $250/$208.74 Left

Eating Out/Entertainment- $75

Welcome all you new faces! And hello again to all the old ones!!

I have been doing No Buy since the middle of October and now I am almost out of credit card debt! I should be done with it by April/May!!
I  No Buy! I don't buy anything now unless I really need it, or I am getting it for free, or making money off it!! I use to just buy things for fun! :confused3
I decided not to track gas anymore, sometimes I needed gas and since I had to report it, then I would try to run all my errands that day too, causing a big rack up! Like most people find out, you can't really control gas prices ;). You need it when you need it.
I still budget money for eating out, because I enjoy eating out and I think if my family ate in for every meal we would get bored!

Running Total: Spent $0
$600...
$0 Days:1
Goal is 15 or more!

Groceries- $300...
Eating Out- $100...
Misc. (Shopping/Entertainment) $200...
I always round up to the nearest dollar.

$0 Days: 1/15: 7%
$600 Limit: $0 : 0%
Month: 1/31: 3%

My savings from coupons and sales: $0

Hi! I would like to try this month. I don't have any debt; I'm just hoping to live more simply. And, I'm trying to teach my kids (3 & 5) to be happy with what they have instead of always wanting more. Our excessive society is getting on my nerves--trying to change that for my family...

Have you thought of using evite for the shower, no need to buy invites or stamps...you just need everyones emails to send them out?

I started in January. I had a goal of 15 No Buy days, and made 14. I drove DH crazy though so I scaled it back. February, mid month I had to go away for a week and it cost me a bit, but it was a family emergency. After that I got out of practice a bit in the recording but my goal was 10 No Buy days and I made it though I didn't come here and post much.

So now, March my goal is 10 again and I am on my way.

March 1- $0

I already have the invitations, I got them for 99 cents/10 pack at Ollies and they are so cute! So only $4 for invites, and more than half of the invites are going to be hand delivered. There are only 15 invites that need mailed, so its only a book of stamps.

I did okay for February, a 10 day vacation in the middle sort of made it an odd month but I tracked what I could. I will post my March $$ amounts for each category tonight or tomorrow after I sit down to do my bills/budget but I know that I have a no buy goal of 9 days this month. I have yet to hit my no buy goal so I'm trying to set something realistic and stick to it!

I just finished updating February. I was pretty bang on with guessing my grocery/gas expenses, which, because we now have two of our adult DS's living in the house, have gone up exponentially. This month we have:

1 birthday (16th, for my youngest :faint: ) and she wants a cell phone. THAT has already been budgeted for, but the cake hasn't and will come out of grocery $$, along with her sleepover costs
2 Easter care packages to the 2 DD at university
1 date lunch with DH when he sees a specialist which will require parking out of the misc $
1 March Break-which means a trip "over the river" to Cracker Barrel, and everyone at home for all meals.

I budgeted 1125 last month for groceries/misc/gas, and ended up pretty close. I'm going to try to whittle that down to $1000 this month...so $250 a week. l did 10 $0 days last month, so I'm going to keep that as a goal for this month. I just don't know when I'll get to them!

Mar 1: $5 groceries-DH bought KD for DD returning to university yesterday
Mar 2: $70 groceries + $3 parking The groceries were really 100, but I used points to buy $30 worth :thumbsup2 We didn't get to eat out, though, so maybe during the Break. ::yes::

Week 1: 172/250

woo hoo! I'm in
It's my second "no buy" month, i did ok in February & would like to do better in March.

My goal for February was 10 days, and I made it to 7. I will shoot for 10 days again this month, but if i can do more I will!

Good luck to everyone ~ here's to a "no spend" March!!

March 1st - $10.00 groceries. Can't believe I forgot to get the cheese.
March 2nd - $11.70 lunch <--- this is one of my biggest expenses - I'm trying very hard to cut back in this area.

Grocery/Household- $250/$208.74 Left
Gas- $50
Eating Out/Entertainment- $75
Emergency/Misc- $75

Total- $450/ $408.74 Left

OK, I'm going to try this for March. I'm looking for 10 no-buy days this month.

3/1 $0
3/2 $0 I know this already because we are not going out anywhere today.

Hi everyone:), I'm in again! I've been keeping track on dd10's Itouch, so I'll just use some overall tracking here and do the daily tracking on the Itouch.

March budget:
groceries - $400 (including all paper products, detergents,
Wal-mart type things)
eating out - $200- this is higher as we are doing a spring-
break weekend in the city w/ the kids.
clothes - $100
Easter - $25 per Easter basket=$75 (a dvd in each & misc)

I fell off the wagon last month since I had my lapband surgery. I doubt I overspent, but didn't have the energy to keep up with the posting. I know we only bought what we needed and there were no extra trips involved at all! So I'm geared up for a good March. Goals: 8 $0 days, <$2000.

3/1 $0
3/2 $0

I'm not going anywhere else today. It's nasty outside. No $ spent today.

March 01 - $0.00
March 02 - $0.00

For fun, I'm going to track how much change I find around town. I also remembered I have 2 parent b-days in March, as well as my son's 4th b-day (already bought his gifts). And my daughter's tonsillectomy... focussing mostly on her health.
