March 2 $84 groceries, $109 dance tuition, $7 DH prescription
March 3 $5 HipHop Shoes

So, today should have been a $0 day, but DD10 needed HipHop shoes. I was waiting till they go on sale on March 15 but today someone put a pair in her size, just about brand new in the resale box. They never have HipHop shoes so I grabbed them. Had I waited they would have been gone. We are talking $60 shoes for $5!!! So, I feel like it was a wise purchase. PLUS, it would have been almost $5 in gas just to get to the dance store, so I am excited!!!

Also tonight I had to renew my CPR class. Usually I pay for it, but with my new P/T job, they paid for it AND paid me to go to it. So that is pretty great too!!!

Took the kids to lunch; DH did some shopping. Will try for a no-buy tomorrow and possibly Friday.

So far not too bad.

March 1 0
March 2 0
March 3 Wendys Lunch $5 and then we ordered Chinese at work $10

Eating out is tough for me, but usually I allow one day a week out for lunch and one day at work dinner out. Ugg both in the same day isnt good!

March 1st - $10.00 groceries. Can't believe I forgot to get the cheese.
March 2nd - $11.70 lunch, around $10.00 for dinner <--- eating out is one of my biggest expenses - I'm trying very hard to cut back in this area.
March 3rd - $0.00!
March 4th - Paying bills, but hoping for a zero day otherwise!

03/01 - 7.50 - school lunches for youngest dd
03/02 - 0
03/03 - $30 gas - $56.59 between Walgreens, Shaws & Hannaford.

My goal is 11 no-spend days/1 down = 10 to go.

I'm hoping that today and tomorrow will both be no spend days. I turned down an invite to meet some friends at the University's caf. for lunch. I will be fine with my "free" leftover chicken pie. It's not like we can't meet for lunch any other day.

I've learned that doing this forces me to plan ahead. Which is probably a good thing. I was only going to grab a few items out last night, but then I figured that I should also pick up things that I know I will buy Friday. Why not get it all at once, while I'm out? Hopefully fewer trips to the store will mean less impulse buying.

DH helped me clean out our kitchen closet last night to make room for a bit of stockpiling. I'm hoping that having some extra groceries on hand will also mean fewer trips to the store.

So much to think about....

This is so funny! Do people just toss change around in the streets where you live? I need to move there!

I'm going to try to have as many "no buy" days as possible this month. I don't have a set budget for anything in particular and groceries are running low, which might mean a big Costco bill for this weekend, but I'm going to try and stop the "dribbling away" of my money at places like the video store and Dunkin Donuts!! I'm not worried about the big bills.... just the slow leak of money that occurs on a daily basis!!

3/1 Money spent - $0 (plus I worked, so I earned money!)

3/2 Money spent - $0 (worked again!)

3/3 Money spent - $0 (didn't work... tempted by Target, but avoided it)

3/4 Money spent - $0 (so far!!.... plus I am at work!!)

I'm sure that soon these numbers won't be so pretty. I'm sure that the car will need gas and I will be buying some groceries. But so far, so good!! (This is just for me.... I don't monitor DH's spending).................P

I already know Fri & Saturday I'll be spending $$ on groceries since this is how it works in our schedule to do the grocery shopping - I usually do it Friday/Sat/Sun. Hubby works at walmart, so a lot of the time I'll have him bring home eggs, milk, bread, etc. when we're out so we seem to always spend a little $ on groceries a lot, but since I'm trying this no buy this month, maybe if we cut down on that and do more shopping at once during the week, then maybe we'll spend less. Yesterday unfortunately we were totally out of bottled water and milk, so we had to.

Woke up feeling so much better today so went to class then went to lunch with some friends at Qudoba. Tomorrow we are headed to spend the day in Amish Country, which is coming out of our "fun budget". It is the money we put away from using coupons and shopping sales. We have over $500 saved since September.

Another $0 day! I find most of the money at the YMCA (especially in the vending machines) or mall. I found $1.60 the last time I went to the mall--all in change. As a kid, my family went looking for money every Sunday at the local high school--I've gotten quite good at it over the years. Anyway, all money I find goes into my kids' piggy bank before I move it into the bank. It adds up over time.
