14 no buy days so far

I did so well on the No Buy program for the first six months but lately, I just justify everything and can see the spending going up and up. I really need to get this all under control again. There just seem to be so many 'necessities'... and I know they aren't really necessary but both kids need skateguards and had to get the skates sharpened and I walked out of the store $48 poorer. Sigh. Anyway, maybe if I start really posting every day it might work. DD's bday party is over and I finally decided to pay someone to paint DS2's new bedroom rather than trying unsuccessfully to do it myself so hopefully, the spending will go down over the next little while ...

Posting everyday helps me; I just love seeing a line of zeros down the page. So when I think about going to buy something I think about having to post it on here.

Thanks for understanding. You know, if I was spending money on me, I could cut it out in a flash. I just have such a hard time not getting things for the kids... and its not toys and such. Its the activities which I don't want to cut out. And its celebrating occasions like bdays, and valentines and easter and halloween... its crazy. And now DS2's new bedroom. When you start things with your first, you don't think how it will snowball by the time you have three kiddos. DS7 has already asked when he gets a 'new' bedroom since he moved from Bear in the Big Blue House to Spiderman when DD4 moved into her big girl room just before DS2 was born. I"ve told him when he's 16 or can decorate it himself :rotfl2:

I'm going to try and post every day except weekends (too hectic then). I did it before and it really helped... then I got lazy :)

Had such great deals at Dominicks today and the new Meijer opening up in Niles! I bought a ton of groceries, but they should last a very long time! In fact I bought so many groceries this month, I really think next month. I shouldn't need that much in the grocery budget. I think I am going to be going way over in my grocery budget this month, the sales at Dominick's and the new Meijer that opened are just too good! I bought 6 boxes of fruit roll ups for essentially 1.50! I had two coupons for .50 off and when you buy 3 they ring up for 1.00 a box and then when you buy 5 or more you get a 3.50 register reward!
