Well I had another $0 day, but it wasn't easy. I had to go to JoAnn's for thread for Friendship bracelets for my Brownies to make tonight. I waled in, went straight to it and straight out. It was in the back of the store so I had to walk past all the Christmas clearance and all the cute Valentines stuff, but I waled in and out with a mission and never even looked. I spent only troop money, non of my own.

I also had to bring a snack tonight. I had thought about making cupcakes because it is DD7's b-day next week and this was our meeting before her b-day, but I ran out of time but I did not buy cupcakes, instead I made puppy chow. I always have all those ingredients in my cupboard and the kids all love it.

So, today was my 4th $0 day. It may not have been without the support of everyone here, so thanks! You got me through JoAnn's, I appreciate that! :woohoo:

Another $0 day for me!! Too busy at work to spend anything and too cold to stop anywhere on the way home!

1/4-8.27 for 8 boxes of cheerioos at Vons. I guess I could say 0$ since its part of the grocery budget.

1/5 0$!(DH did go to store but thats grocery money as well)

1/6 1.39 for a Sonic Chiller(used a coupon though!), 43.00 for Preschool sign up for son(not bad a 8 week, 2x/week course and 3 bounce house days), and I am going to drop off some alterations tonight...

1/7-1.07 for a Route 44oz Iced Tea from Sonic w/coupon ont he way to work. But the guy gave me a whole new coupon book which was super nice of him! I didn't make it to the Alternations place, so will have that tonight..but this week has been good, managed to find a few things for lunch in the cupboard. Tomorow I know I am spending $4.85 for a pizza dinner for me, the DH and the tot. Not bad. The Tea I got today is so big I might not get one tomorow

Update: 34.00 at Alterations Place, but she is a local shop and she fixed two pairs of capri's, is hemming new jeans and turning my older jeans that are torn on the bottom to capris!!

Sheez I need to catch up!

Ok so the 5th ended up being a $35.25 day, I didn't know my favorite knitter was going to stock purple longies in size large, exactly what I wanted. So I had to get them.

On the 6th I ran all sorts of errands to return surplus Christmas stuff. I bought too much for Natalie and myself. I returned $250ish and rebought about $50 in other stuff. So I feel ok about that :)

Today was Taco Thursday so I bought my standard $6 in tacos. I think it might be my last Taco Thursday tho, I feel awful!!

Whew! It is snowing and I'll be home tomorrow. Assuming I can stay off of hyenacart, it might be a zero day! I'll be optimistic and mark is as a zero day.

If I want to be WAY optimistic, I'll say Sat & Sunday will be zeros too. I do need to return 3 things to Walmart, but I'll turn right around and leave :)

I know it is early in the day but considering the snow we have here and the fact that the weather is so bad even our school district called off I am putting today down as a $0 day as well. All this snow and cold has been good for my budget :lmao:

well I ended up getting some groceries while I wait for DH's RX to be filled but nothing that we couldn't use anyway, bananas, cheese, deli meat, etc.

DH's got his surgery today so that money will be spent. The dr's office called yesterday and quoted me $130 more than they told DH so I think we need to get a detail of charges before they do anything since that's quite a large difference. I also need to pick up a few things for DH that he'll need but since it's for the surgery it will all be lumped into that cost.

I don't see us spending any other money today which is good.

No school today and the plow hasn't come yet, so we're not going anywhere. I have a movie for us to watch today from Netflix and snack on some popcorn.

cleaning is free too.

I hope the surgery is just minor and that all goes well.

Hi everyone. My house was full of people most of Christmas break and my folks just went yesterday. MIL is still here but its time for me to start thinking about the budget again. I think I did ok during Christmas but although I kept the receipts, didn't really keep track. Had a lot more $0 days than usual but the days I did shop were higher so I guess it evened out. I've been buying a bunch of organizing bins and such to get our house out of chaos but I think that's pretty much finished now. DD's bday is on the 18th but I'm pretty much done shopping for gifts and her party. STill need a few things but not much. DS2 has started throwing his leg over his crib so I've been put in a tailspin trying to get all the things to redecorate his new big boy room for when he moves into the toddler bed.... going with a CARS theme... the one problem is trying to get the room painted. There's no spare room so it'd be easier to get someone who knows what they're doing to come in for a day to do it but it'll cost $500 plus... I could do it myself but I don't really know what I'm doing... whatever teh decision, the lilac and light yellow paint has to go.... I have most other things bought with only a few left. Here's the budget for the remainder of January

groceries $525
gas $375
cat food $90
DD bday party (cake, balloons, some loot stuff) $80
paint DS3's room $200
other things for DS3's room $150 $110 left
ballet registration $100 $0 left
swimming registration (3kiddos) $400
DD's bday pics $180
my spending $150
DH spending $150

Total: $2400 $2260 left

8 - DS3's room (garbage can/Mater pillow) $40; ballet registration $100 ... still need to get milk, cat food, and pick up a few items for DS's room

I'm behind on posting :rolleyes1 As of the 5th I had 2 no spend days out of 15 planned. Jan 6- spent $13 at WalMart on cold medicines and tissues for DD ( can't believe we didn't have extra in the house) Jan 7th- Had to pick up a prescription. That was $15. Today SHOULD be a no spend day, but "not counting my chickens...." OK, in reviewing what I did spend this month, all but 1 purchase was unavoidable, and all money spent has been within my "spending" budget.

When to Kroger this afternoon for groceries and gas. Apparently between my kroger card and coupons I saved 12.01 on groceries. The price of gas has gone up about 20 cents so my 20 cent card discount didn't do as much I had hoped.
I need to send out 2 bills tonight, thank goodness I got paid today!
