I didn't do too badly today.I hit sales and got notebooks and crayons for .01 and .20 each.My oldest had to have several hard binders too...it never seems to end.Tomorrow I hope to have a $0 day...need to go make lunches.

Why am I never behind Kickapoo to pick up the money flying off? :confused3

don't feel bad, it's monopoly money! :rotfl:

Because I was feeling so much better, I started sewing our MNSSHP costumes on Friday. Yesterday morning, I got the machine back out to finish them up and... well, I sewed my index finger. The needle went through the nail, bent on the bone and came out the side. So, off to the minor emergency clinic for a tetanus shot, antibiotics, and xrays to make sure we got all the metal out and no breakage. Yeah. I know.

Aug. 9 $0

Let me explain the walmart-I volunteered to host the back to school pool party at the neighborhood pool, but I didn't know all the cool events in the neighborhood are completely volunteer run and funded, so I had to fund this one out of pocket. We got as much ice cream and other stuff donated that we could but it will still end up costing me about $100. Oh well, I only had to do it once and there were over 100 kids there having a blast!

Kids are back in school today and now I'm really going to buckle down and not spend. DD8's 9th birthday is this weekend so I'm going to try and just do one day of gift shopping (she wants a disco ball for her room!). Other than groceries and an oil change, I have no spending planned for this week. I'll try and wrap it all up into 1 day....

DH is glad the pool party is over, evidently when I was planning it I was very stressed about it and it made me distracted, grumpy and bossy. And I forgot to do the housework. At least that's what I was told all week:rolleyes1.

But, I had a major score today.:goodvibes After the baggage carousel ate the zipper off of one of our pieces of luggage last year, I promised myself one new bag before this next trip. So, DH went to do a warranty exchange on one of his craftman tools at Sears, and I made him walk down to Penneys to look at luggage. Secretly in my heart, I wanted to get three small lightweight hardside suitcases, but I resigned myself to just replace the one case. Low and behold, I found a clearance corner with lightweight hardside suitcases!:woohoo: Each one was originally $160, marked down, then again, then 70% off on pink clearance tags combined with a 20% off coupon and.... Three brand new hardside suitcases for a grand total of $98 including tax!:yay::yay::yay:

Now, if I can just stay out of the ER...;)

OH. . . . My . . . . GOODNESS! :scared1: Great job on the luggage! I've been looking, too, but I think that I'll just borrow for this trip, since I haven't found what I want at a price I want to pay, yet.

Kids had their first day of school yesterday, they loved it! :cheer2:

I got through 3 loads of dishes and almost all the :laundy:.

I really, really should go to a Zumba class :dancer: this morning but right now I'm :surfweb:. I haven't been to class all summer because the kids didn't want to swim indoors at the Y (where my class is), because there weren't any other kids and hey, it's summer, why swim indoors? And I just dread the first class-my endurance is kapootsky.

Hi! I've been on vacation since July 31st so I'm just now posting a budget. I've really tried to keep in line while away although we've run into a few glitches (cottage overrun with ants :scared1:) which meant we drove an hour to and from each day rather than sleep there. We're getting a partial refund which should account for gas and more fishing stuff that we ended up needing from last month's budget. I had a budget planned for August that included back to school clothes but I ended up buying most of that during the GAP sale last month. I also realized that the kids bday stuff is going to have to be bought thsi month rather than next. I've kept my receipts for this month so far so I'll list that too.

groceries $540 $432.73 left
gas $500 $419.40 left
cat food $90
swim lessons for three kiddos $400 $2 left
