No AP Discount for October available?

I am staying one night at AKL and two nights at the poly in early October. I called to get the AP discount applied and nothing is available already. Except for one and two bedroom suites. Does this mean they are completely booked up because it's going to be so busy? If I keep calling to see if someone cancel the reservation might I eventually be able to get the AP discount? SO Frustrating.

I called last night and they were offering Kidani Suites for $406 on Oct 7 and 8th, thats a friday and saturday of columbus weekend. Seems like they would have some more of those...

I didn't have them check Kidani just Jambo House. I am not a fan of Kidani. I was open to any view at Jambo though. All they had were giant suites. Same goes for Poly.

October is shaping up to be a very busy month and they are filling rooms without discounts.

AP discounts are available today but they aren't that great. Right now I'm booked at CS standard view with the back to school rate for 10/14-16. AP brings it down about $11 a night. I'm thinking about just biting the bullet and going with BWI Standard CL with the AP, it's a ridiculous amount of money but I'm paying for location during F&W. I saw AKL rooms bout no villas at Jambo or Kidani.

October also brings us into a new fiscal year, right? Maybe the start of less discounting for the coming year, although if recent events impact numbers it could go the opposite way. Wonder if we'll have to wait a couple of quarters to find out?

I'm super frustrated right now because my daughter said she wants to spend the night at her birthday hotel (POFQ) for her October birthday, and the AP discount is not available for any useful date. It has never been an issue in the past, which is why she refers to it as her birthday hotel. I love POFQ, but I will never pay full price for it.

I think I'm going to try calling once a week to see if anything opened up that falls under the discount. We have points rented for a majority of the trip but we decided to extend it but there was nothing available DVC points wise.

I'm in the exact same spot. I should have rented more nights and now it seems like a crime to pay so much for two extra nights in comparison to cost of renting points. I really want AKL but I guess I'll be settling for POFQ or maybe just head home instead of extending the trip. I've read all these blog posts and podcasts about getting sub $400 rates at WL and AKL but Maybe not for my dates in Oct and maybe not at all this year.

I really want AKL but I guess I'll be settling for POFQ or maybe just head home instead of extending the trip. WL Courtyard view room was around $350/night for my weekend I think

ETA, it was $351 per night but that is with four adults in the room. It's $301/night for two adults

I ended up getting a better price through a TA than what I could get with the AP fall discount. Almost went with AKL standard at almost 40% off the rack rate, but my DD wanted to stay in a Royal Room at POR so we got that for about a 35% discount.

October for my crew is a super quick trip as my two girls and their friends are all in college and only one of them gets any form of a fall break. We check in 10/14 and leave on 10/16. We're lucky to be a 6.5 hour drive away.

Was thinking wow it's wide open then realized, wow, those are rack rates that they are advertising as AP rates
