It's my little tradition to call Caitlin the day before a trip and sing that song to her. I can practically hear her eyeballs rolling through the telephone. But, you know, I think she'd really be hurt if I forgot.

Yeah, my user name is kind of confusing--New Mexico Amy lives in Michigan. I was living in New Mexico when I first registered here. Then when I moved to Michigan, I didn't want to change my user name to MiAmy because then it just looks like I can't spell Miami.

Thanks for the good wishes! I'm at that antsy point at work when I have everything all caught up and ready to go but have to sit here for several more hours. Ick.

Last week the Carousel was open and it was fun.

Make sure you check out the new Nemo show at AK. Be careful about the showtimes. The guide we picked up at the front gates listed 4 shows during the day. However, we overhead a CM say that the afternoon shows were cancelled for the day. It would have not been nice if we had planned to go to the late afternoon show and then found out it was cancelled.

The show's music and puppetry was excellent.

Mal: Wow, two songs! And one for MM! You're so kind today. Did you watch American Idol and get inspired? You know, I never heard that Now is the Time song until I heard it on a cd I have. I had to look to see what the heck it was from. I must have missed that time frame of the CoP. It is a catchy little song, though, I like to sing along in the car.

dwaddict: You can mock me about the stairs. Everyone in my family does. DH won't let me carry anything up and down stairs and usually walks behind me so he can break my fall.

thptrek: CoP is one of our favorites although Caitlin will tell you she doesn't like it anymore, she does always make it there at least once. I'm glad to hear it was open last week, I'd be sad if it were closed. Thanks for the review of the Nemo show! That's one I'm really hoping to catch. And if I'm not feeling better by the time I get there, I'm going to be needing some nice "sit down and relax" attractions.

MM: You need to start a pre-trip report for us to play on. Eight months is a lot of pre-tripping! And I promise--I will definitely sing to you before you go this time! You're just lucky that it's virtual singing because I'm not that great of a singer.

CoP trivia facts:

The Sherman Brothers wrote both songs. "Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow" was the original song of the CoP. When CoP moved to WDW in 1975, the commissioned the brothers to write a new song, which was "The Best Time of Our Lives". This song ran in the attraction from 1975-1994, when they re-recorded "Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow" (which is now sung, I *believe*, by Nathan Lane) and put it back in.

Rex Allen was the original Father in CoP, but when it was redone in 1994 Jean Shepard was re-recorded to be Father, and Rex Allen is now "Grandpa".

We're back! We had a great time and I'll be downloading photos and doing laundry and um....grocery shopping today. I bought some bread and milk on the way home but that won't do for long.
